What was the RPG Pipeline

The RPG Pipeline was a posting board to keep track of upcoming tabletop rpgs from 2015 to 2021 (this Blogger version began in 2019). It covered new English language ttrpgs and ttrpgs going into crowdfunding.

Dead Record: Official Rulebook / $0.00

Dead Record: Official Rulebook / $0.00: Publisher: Greyshield Games

Welcome to Dead Record

You have found your way to Dead Record. A solo tabletop game of survival and desperate hope of eventual rescue.

The world is changing and the dead are rising. What was first a simple virus with stay-at-home orders has mutated into something more dangerous. An infection begins that, upon a human’s death, reanimates a human’s corpse into a mindless eater of flesh, or worse. Those who had once been friendly neighbors are now monsters wandering through their communities, eager to consume human flesh. Communication has ended, the TV is dead, electricity: gone. Is there even anyone else around to help?

Experience the story of survival as told through the journal of one survivor as they gather allies and fight their way to eventual rescue. It is a story of persistence, teamwork, survival, and sacrifice. As mutations in the virus evolve, can you adapt to face new dangers? Or will the record of this survivor’s story be tragically cut short?

From the Author:

The creation of Dead Record came from a love of tabletop terrain combined with a love for strategic turn-based games. When playing with friends was not an option, I did not have an option of solo play that matched what I wanted in a game. I wanted a campaign system with randomized elements that would allow me to lead a group of survivors in a setting in which each mission felt new and truly dangerous. I wanted to be able to build a squad, make tactical choices, and hope they survived to the end without knowing exactly what dangers I’d be facing along the way.

I spent many nights building and modeling in my basement and then testing my creations in short missions. The beauty of well made miniatures is very appealing, but can’t easily be shared or transported. On the other hand, two-dimensional graphics could allow me to share my passion with everyone. When I realized that I could build a system that could be easily printed and flattened down to be carried in a single folder...then my hard work could be used by others who may be looking for something similar to what I was: a fast, simple, tabletop game with quick-to-learn rules and great replay-ability. I hope you find it fun, too.

Enjoy!
