Publisher: AlwaysCheckers Publishing
What do bounty hunters do when the galaxy no longer needs them?
In A Complicated Profession, they start new careers HOSTING INTERGALACTIC CRUISES for fickle passengers in lawless space.
Play ACP to reunite a disbanded crew of bounty hunters, jaded sidekicks, shabby droids and shady accomplices. Then pick a hosting role and start a new life together.
What is ACP?
ACP is a light-hearted sci-fi TTRPG for 3 to 5 players. It's a GM-less game, intended to be played as a one-shot or short campaign over 1-3 sessions.
You'll need at least 3 six-sided dice, a deck of playing cards and the printouts (or you can use my free custom Miro board if you're playing online).
Although ACP is easy to learn, each game is varied and rewarding due to:
- a choice of 8 hunter roles and 8 host roles (64 different combinations!)
- a menu of 9 themed event playbooks, playable in any order
- player-created ship assets that you’re rewarded for using
- randomly generated contracts and passengers
The game involves answering prompt questions, earning and creating your own items, decorations and NPCs for your ship and telling stories about how your crew deals with the many dangerous and amusing situations that arise from your passenger's demands and lawless space.
There's no stats to manage or rolling dice for combat - it's all about creating a fun story together and utilising the resources and skills available to you! You could even avoid violence altogether with some creative thinking.
You'll complete three contracts, each consisting of three events picked from a menu. After each event you'll roll a few dice to see how well you've done and how your crew are rewarded.
You'll build on each other's stories and use your unique and ever-changing skills to find solutions to the problems you'll face in your new career. But don't forget to look after your passengers and fulfill your contracts! Someone will roleplay as a passenger at the end of each contract to judge how well you've done.
Each player starts with two character sheets for their past and present careers. As you play, you'll gradually leave behind your hunter life, giving up your old name, possessions and skills.
By the end of the game, most players become experienced hosts, with a different set of skills and a nickname that reflects their new career.
What's included?
The ACP files include:
- a 64-page, full-colour, illustrated PDF
- a printer-friendly version of all the printouts (12 A4-sized pages)
- instructions for setting up my free custom Miro board for online play

A Stop Along the Road May 09, 2022 at 08:39PM
Publisher: Magical Gurll
This land is vast and marvelous, full of peril and marvel in equal measure. Adventurers from all corners of it travel great distances to complete grand, dangerous, and splendid quests full of threats and treasure and wonder. There is glory, riches, fame, and splendor to be found—and instead of seeking it, you have settled down.
Now and again, adventurers pass by the home you’ve made for yourself. They are worn, weary, in need of rest and respite. And so you offer your hospitality, freely and warmly, again and again. You are no traveler. You are on no noble, extravagant quest. This is your home, a place you’ve made worth settling down in, but to most people, you’re simply a stop along the road.
A Stop Along the Road is a short (three pages) solo journaling game. Playing as a character who offers their home and hospitality to adventurers passing through, you’ll write journal entries from their perspective. The game will provide instructions and loose prompts, helping to gently guide your storytelling. To play, you’ll need these instructions, a means by which to record your entries (paper and pen, a text document, audio recording tools), and a deck of tarot cards.

Abandon All Hope April 12, 2022 at 03:51PM
Publisher: Jefferson Neves
Travel through Hell and purge your sins in search of paradise.
- A low-prep narrative game.
- Uses only six-sided dice.
- To play alone or in group.
- Start the game by reading the first page and simply move on, finding out about yourself and those around you.
- Use the sheets, which complement the rules, as instructed and don't let the weight of guilt trap you in HELL!
Abandon All Hope was a game created by my laziness to create characters. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with the mechanics and even opportunities to create a deep or optimized character. “Abandon” is an exercise on my part in making a game where I just start, not even knowing who my character is. I find out about him as I play. And isn’t that the strongest argument for those who advocate short preludes and more direct stories? I want to know who he is while playing! And who has never created texts and texts about a character to need to change everything at the time of the game, because simply what you imagined didn’t even come close to the dynamics of the game?
With “Abandon” I even managed to make a session in which characters were created playing the game, before we set up the sheets for another RPG, with other rules, but with a profound departure from a game session, from an RPG exercise.

Price: $5.00After The Rain: The Roleplaying Game June 17, 2022 at 06:02PM
Publisher: Desks and Dorks
"What do you want most? What would you lose to get it?
Those are the questions you will have to answer while playing After the Rain, a one shot roleplaying game for 3-6 players. After the Rain casts you and your friends as desperate individuals bound together in pursuit of a shared goal. Standing in your way is The Rain.
The longer you are exposed to The Rain the more you will lose your memories, experiences, and the things that make you who you are. As the game progresses, you’ll be forced to change. Will you crumble without your past experiences or adapt to the loss of your memories and embrace the new person you must become?
With only four six sided dice per player, pencils, and your wits, will you be left standing After the Rain?”
After The Rain is played over 3 Acts, each with a different twist that encourages character growth into what The Rain is leaving behind.
To play, you and your friends will need to create a setting that varies as wildly as your imagination; ranging from a medieval village during the black plague to an office building where people audit the gods. Next, you must establish the goal. This is what drives your characters and brings them together. It's the thing they want the most and could be anything from getting a briefcase full of money to taking out a powerful rival.
Then, you’ll need to make your Facets. These are the three defining traits of your character. This could be as simple as a desire for revenge or as deep as trying to save someone you once loved. Finally, you'll decide on a past connection with another player at the table, to help eliminate any 'We meet in a Tavern' situations, and to help get you started right in the midst of The Rain.
Be careful. As the game continues and the players are exposed to The Rain, these Facets will start to wash away and they will lose their memories and experiences as the game goes on.

You're Hired!
Welcome to Anomaly Hunters!
I guess I should quickly explain what the concept of the show is: we find haunted locations, you go there, destroy the thing, and film the whole process! Is it legal, well... Probably not... But is it cool... Heck yes!
Anomaly Hunters is a monster hunting tabletop roleplaying game, withing which you play as the protagonist of an investigative reality TV show that tries to find weird creatures and get rid of them. It takes a lot of inspiration from Supernatural, Deadtective, The Cleansing Hour and all those paranormal shows that are extra cheesy, but still fun!
FEATURES
- Take the role of one of the crew members, using cool archetypes such as the Tech Guy, the Medium, the Witch or even the Exorcist.
- Easy to print at home and get started playing right away!
- Simple rules that focus on the story, leaving a lot of narrative powers to the Game Master and Players.
- Random tables for different parts of the game, making it easy to create situations on the go
- And more!

Price: $0.00Ariadne and Bob June 06, 2022 at 04:38AM
Publisher: Jim McGarva
Ariadne and Bob is a "GMful" roleplaying game about a know-it-all and her trusty sidekick going on adventures and getting in trouble. Ariadne can be condescending at times, but her ego is not entirely undeserved. Bob is Ariadne's long-suffering partner. The Pinky to her Brain, the Sherman to her Peabody, the Watson to her Holmes, the Luz to her Eda. This game draws inspiration from the many favourite fictional pairings that follow this pattern, from Laurel and Hardy to Rick and Morty.
Designed for two to four players, each role has agendas and moves that prompt the players to play off one another in interesting and fun ways. Beyond the first two, additional players take on the role of The Chorus, playing minor roles, bit parts, and comic relief. I call the game "GMful" instead of "GMless" because the traditional roles of the GM are split up among the players. So everyone gets part of the fun of being the GM and all the fun of playing a character.
Ariadne and Bob's simple rules make it quick to get into and play any time. It's great for one-shots, but is also rewarding over several plays with the same characters, and has enough variety to keep you playing over and over again. It's the perfect game for when one or two of the group can't make your regular game: you need a game designed for small player counts; you want something easy to pick up and quick to start playing; you want to finish a complete story in one session. Ariadne and Bob delivers on all of that!

The Astral Tides Roleplaying Game is the tabletop RPG adaptation of Nicholas Kory's fiction series of the same name. The game takes players on a wild ride through a science-fantasy galaxy full of colorful alien species, strange magical powers, and all the loot you can carry.
With a strong focus on working together as a team, Astral Tides boasts mechanical benefits for building relationships with your fellow crew, assisting each other in difficult tasks, and even roleplaying with one another! The Astral Tides RPG: Core Rules is set to provide Game Masters and players with everything they need to assemble their crew, craft their ship, and set sail for adventure in the stars of the Han’Arai Galaxy. The Core Rules features eight chapters, outlined as follows:
-
Chapter One: The Basics covers the basic structure of the game, general terminology, and when and how dice are used.

Chapter Two: The Crew is the largest chapter of the book. This chapter details the specific game elements that go into creating your very own crew member, from 6 different species to 11 different aspects to creating your own background and choosing a hallmark.
-
Chapter Three: The Loot describes how weapons, gear, datapads, kits, and other important equipment are handled in this RPG system.
-
Chapter Four: The Ship allows the crew to select one of three ship models, and then customize it’s attributes and features to create the vessel they will use to sail the Han’Arai Galaxy.
-
Chapter Five: The Game delves deeper into the details of the game rules that were introduced in Chapter One. Hazards, Challenges, Vehicular Combat, Companions, Settlements, and more are outlined here.
-
Chapter Six: The Galaxy covers the major historical events of the Han’Arai Galaxy, from the discovery of Superspace to the Nuani War.
-

-
Chapter Eight: The Master helps guide game masters on preparing and running their games of The Astral Tides RPG, as well as giving GMs charts and tables to help them create new worlds, non-player characters, and ships.
-

Publisher: Crescent Web
Two bands enter. Only one band leaves. Face the music and the magic as you compete to win the Band Battler's World Championship and take home the ultimate prize!
This system is a short, sweet, and chaotic one-shot oriented system that allows you and your friends to play as a band and fight in an over the top literalized battle of the bands. It requires at least 2 6-sided dice and 1 20-sided die to play, and works best with groups of 3-6 players and 1 game master or moderator, known in this system as an Emcee. This game does lean on the silly side, but it's meant to inspire fun in its players and the randomizer tables in the back of the book allow you to set up quickly and tell a wild story.

You died too young. You died a terrible death. You died with unfinished business. You died with hate in your heart.
You didn’t lay quiet.
The psychopomps dredged you from your grave, repaired your mortal coil, and now protect you from damage that would slay the living. Not that you are alive anymore. Oh no, you are a walking, talking corpse fueled by retribution. You will have your bloody revenge and woe to those who stand in your way. The psychopomps, in the form of a collection of animals, keep watch over you. Kill an innocent, sink into ennui, or abandon your vengeance and they may just cut your springs. You don’t want to return to the worms without making those bastards pay, do you?
Of course not.

With this one, I am approaching at some serious stuff I bear. The tone doesn't have to be heavy, but it can become very dark, depending on the values you choose to start with and the individualism you put in it. You can lighten the tone by reading "when you stay" instead of "when you reach" in the resolution mechanic.
But why read about the game when you can read it ?

Price: $1.00Brother Bear, Sister Wolf April 28, 2022 at 08:00PM
Publisher: Small Cool Games
Brother Bear, Sister Wolf is a wildpunk tabletop fantasy roleplaying game about sentient animals on a quest to defeat a mystical threat to their home. They live in the Wild, a place like our world but without humans.
They act according to their nature and instinct: wolves form packs and hunt, rabbits dig warrens and forage, mice scurry through the grass alert for danger, falcons soar overhead searching for mice.
The animals of the Wild are not fur-humans.
They don’t make or use tools (except in the very limited way some creatures use objects). They don’t wear clothes. They have no technology or writing.
But they are unlike the animals of our world in a couple of ways. They speak with each other, even across different species. They tell stories and remember them across generations. They respect the boundaries of ancient traditions, bound by codes of instinct and honor. And they observe and pay respect to the spirit world that exists interspersed through the Wild, centered in domains that are each ruled by a spiritus.
Characters
When you create a player character, you choose:
- Your kind: you can play any species of animal you like, but all of those in the pact should be able to function in the same environment.
- Your calling: choose from Jester, Meddler, Rover, Seer, or Warden.
- Your knack: something you can do that sets you apart.
- Your dread: that which you most fear or abhor.
The group jams together to sketch out the Enemy, a malevolent force that seeks to corrupt the Wild and the animals living there. You are called together, even as animals of different kinds, by the spirits to form a pact to protect the Wild. Together you will build Trust so that you can act in concert to gain allies and rally them to protect your home.
You might:
- Travel far beyond the parts of the Wild you are familiar with, coping with various encounters as you do.
- Find out why a Spiritus has gone mad and is causing havoc.
- Negotiate with an unkindness of Ravens to scout a path around a corrupted Wolf pack.
- Convince a family of Beavers to dam a different stream in order to protect a spiritus’ domain from flooding.
- Find an ancient Owl, wise enough to know the weakness that champions of old used to defeat the enemy in the last encroachment.
- Persuade a Bear to follow the law of the Wild and let the pact pass through his territory unharmed.
- Help a wounded and panicked animal, much larger than you.
- Ask an Owl to carry you over the hills so that you might perform a ritual that will save the valley from the enemy.
- Discover a secret hidden deep within an abandoned and haunted Rabbit warren.
- Learn a local dialect of birdsong so that you might pass without challenge.
- Survive a winter colder than any animal remembers.
The Game
The game system is a condensed version of the Forged in the Darkengine by John Harper. This is a playtest version of the game, but all of the pieces are in place and it is fully playable. Development is ongoing.
- Number of players: 3-6.
- Age of players: 11+.
- Length: 2-5 hours per game session.
- Pages: 49 (11.9k words).

Constellation May 19, 2022 at 08:46PM
Publisher: Silver Branch Games
Roleplaying games of people in a spaceship
This is a rules-light framework for science fiction games where a group of characters are going round space in their ship, having adventures, like in TV series and movies.
They might be scrappy traders working on both sides of the law, or officers in a fleet, or all sorts of points between.
Constellation is designed to get you going quickly with the minimum of reading, head-scratching, and lists of equipment. It's about simple rules generating interesting outcomes, and telling stories that revolve around the characters.
System note: it's based round two d10, don't go over stat, with various other bonus and opposition dice as needed. (It's the same core as Frisson, adapted differently.)
This product works on a crowdthrown model. That means I throw out something that's well made but a bit experimental and untested, and if people like it I might do more with it. If you support by buying the pdf (thanks!) you'll get any future updates to it. Check out the previews for a good idea of what you're getting.

The crawlspace is that spot where the light of the outside world doesn't quite reach. It's separated from both the light above and the dark depths below. You can hear life going on above you while you gasp for breath in the fetid vapors rising from below. It's the place nobody thinks about until they have to go in.

d12GO! April 22, 2022 at 09:15PM
Publisher: Brad Zimmerman
d12GO is a simple open-setting role playing system that uses a single 12-sided die (a “d12”).
The driving philosophy behind d12GO is that players and game masters can start playing in any genre or setting they want. Just pick up a d12… and go!
Character creation is a breeze, with different character levels suited to different styles of game or difficulty. Playing something tense and full of dread and danger? Level 1 will limit your skills and resources to make things hard. Playing something big and epic? Then you might want to jump in at level 5.
The rulebook even contains a GM section at the end, filled with random tables perfect for improvising an entire game session no matter what type of setting you and your group have decided.
If you need to throw together a quick and easy one-shot for your friends, but don't want to learn a whole complicated rules system, then d12GO is the perfect game for you!

Debt and Metal is a collaborative storytelling game about a group of aces—skilled mercenaries who pilot giant robots, or frames—taking on a galaxy that doesn’t care about them. It requires one game master to moderate the game and portray the dangers of the galaxy and one or more players to portray the aces.
Based on Trophy Gold, the game uses a lightweight framework for stories of mercenaries taking on harrowing missions in order to pursue their drive.
Use rollable tables or your own choices to design an ace who specializes in gambits: maneuvers that set you apart from the average frame pilot employed in militaries and corporations’ private security teams.

Publisher: Steve Jackson Games
The world is flat. It rests on the back of four giant elephants, who in turn stand on the back of great A'Tuin, the only turtle to form the basis of an entire branch of astrophysics.
Events on the Discworld have been chronicled in the best-selling works of Sir Terry Pratchett. Fans have learned of the adventures of Rincewind the incompetent wizard, Granny Weatherwax the witch (known to trolls as "She Who Must Be Avoided"), Captain Carrot the six-foot dwarf, Archchancellor Ridcully, Susan Sto Helit (granddaughter of Death), and a cast of strange and unique characters.
This version of the Discworld Roleplaying Game is a reprint of the original First Edition of the game from 2002 (which is itself a rebranding of the original GURPS Discworld title from 1997). This stand-alone game is "Powered by GURPS" and designed to be compatible with GURPS Third Edition. A revised and expanded edition of this book with GURPS Fourth Edition as its core is available separately.

Lightspress Media is a tabletop roleplaying company with a lo-fi approach. Utility of content takes precedence over ostentatious production value. Graphic elements should enhance the message of the text, not act as page filler and eye candy. Physical books need to be compact, portable, and sturdy. This minimalist aesthetic results in powerful toolkits that are both useful and affordable. After all, tabletop roleplaying isn’t the book. It’s the creativity and collaboration that takes place around the tabletop. Our mission is to give you as much as you need, then get out of your way.
Price: $7.50Eroding the Outside: a TTRPG of Gods May 18, 2022 at 03:02PM
Publisher: Alley Faint Wurds
Eroding the Outside is a 32 page tabletop roleplaying game illustrated by AI where each player controls a god that is so powerful that they can alter physics itself by writing the rules of the game.
The game starts out with literally nothing. Only each player's god exists. There are some basic rules about how a god "makes a declaration," which determines an "element of reality."
Maybe a god declares, "Light exists." The GM and the player discuss what exactly is meant by this declaration to determine whether this counts as "chemistry (small scale physics)," "human scale physics," or "astronomy (large scale physics)."
Then the player rolls some six sided dice based on their god's statistics. Each 3, 4, 5, or 6, is a success. The player goes to a shared document called "The Elements of Reality," and writes down "Light exists," as well as requiring number of successes that player rolled for that declaration.
Session 1 of Eroding the Outside is a lot like the first chapter of Genesis from the Bible.

Errant June 27, 2022 at 11:39PM
Publisher: Kill Jester
You have no home.
You have no job.
You have no friends.
You have no family.
You have no prospects.
What you do have are a handful of pennies, a blithe disregard for your own life, and a particular set of skills. The kind of skills that make respectable folks avoid you.
Out there, beyond civilization, lies danger: monsters and magic and ancient ruins pregnant with treasure. Death is likely, but what did you have to live for anyway? At least out there is the chance to make something of yourself, and maybe even get back at those who wronged you.
This is no life for decent folk, but you’re not decent folk. You are an Errant.
What is Errant?
Errant is a classic fantasy role-playing game in the vein of the first few editions of that role-playing game and its many imitators and descendants such as Knave, Into the Odd, and The Black Hack. It is freely compatible with material for all those games as well as the newest edition of that role-playing game, with conversion guides provided within.
Errant is designed to be Simple, with no math above a 2nd grade level necessary. It’s a game that Cuts to the Chase by maintaining the smallest amount of time between players making meaningful decisions. Players are supported Actively, rather than Passively. Their abilities give them choices instead of bonuses. It’s a game of Options, not Prescriptions. All rules and procedures in Errant are intended as guidance, to provide a toolbox for play. Rules are written to be open-ended, extendable, and use natural language wherever possible. We trust you to make good decisions.
What makes Errant unique?
Errant is rules light, procedure heavy.
What does that mean? Well, it means that the rules you need to play Errant are simple to understand and minimal. At its core, the basic mechanic is to simply roll a twenty-sided die and try to get a result that’s in between two numbers (“roll high under” or “blackjack”) to resolve tasks.
However, Errant has a number of procedures that are designed to help you navigate different play situations in fair and interesting ways. Want to know how to run an exciting chase scene, or establish a fried cockatrice restaurant, or sue a demon for emotional negligence? Errant has procedures that can help you do that!
Procedures are not rules, but neither are they vague, general guidance. They provide a framework to structure the game, and can be adjusted, ignored, hacked, mangled, broken, stolen, or seasoned to taste.
While designed to be more comprehensive than the lightweight rulesets of many newer old-school role-playing games, all the rules and procedures of Errant are streamlined for ease of use and understanding. They have been hammered into shape by five years of rigorous playtesting. Every rule or procedure within the book has come into contact with a live player, and has changed as a result

In today’s world of media and spin it can be difficult to sort fact from fiction, but what you might not realise is how much fun it can be to be an editor or journalist of your own newspaper.
This journaling game is all about how much can you spin a story into fitting your newspaper’s political and social leanings. Can you validate your reader’s viewpoint on the world and its affairs. Can you draw them up into a righteous frenzy with a well written editorial?
Extra! Extra! Is all about how much you can balance the truth with the spin, how far it can be pushed before it breaks and whether you can successfully achieve the goals of your newspaper.
If you are thinking that this could also be a great idea for a collaborative game then you are right, this can be done as a GM-less project between players as well. Whether solo or in a group all that is needed is a few d6s, a pack of ordinary playing cards, writing method of your choice, and your imagination!

EZD6 Core Rulebook June 09, 2022 at 01:13AM
Publisher: RUNEHAMMER GAMES
From the tabletop madness of DM SCOTTY crawls EZD6!
A rules-light D6 RPG system that puts creativity over complexity, but delivers a suprising amount of variation and mechanical wiggle.
Hey guys it's Hankerin from Runehammer. I have been in the DM Scotty cult for years. He's a great guy, and has a trillion hours at the table. All that creativity and table time really shines in this core book. You can just feel the Scotty-ness. So when this project came across my anvil, I had to throw down my best efforts!
That's when I found Sean Bova, who arted this book with such brilliance.
Here's what you can expect:
-EZD6 Core rules: D6 dice pooling with a few key innovations like boons and banes, strikes instead of hit points and variable damage, and a fun player micro-resource called karma.
-9 Hero Paths: Scotty cooks the classics with his own spices. Each hero path is nicely separate from the next, with key roles to give you that MVP feeling in your group.
-20 classic monsters, 20 crazy ones: This is my favorite section of the book. Placing emphasis on a monster's narrative specialities, rather than numeric, seems too open-ended, but these horrors just nail it. The entries are tight enough to play cold, but weird enough to mod and enjoy from memory.
-Tables: No RPG is complete without random ways to select baddies, treasures, NPC names, lair details, story twists, and more. We got those covered.
To find out more, chase down DM Scotty on YouTube, Patreon, and Discord
Then there's me.. Runehammer.
I can't wait for y'all to dive in to EZD6. Now go forth and roll!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Note on EZD6 by Professor Dungeonmaster of Dungeoncraft...
The vermin stepped through a hole in the basement wall, skulking and sniffing. I leaped out and buried my axe in one’s skull. The thief skewered another from behind. The mage torched another, filling the air with the smell of burning rat hair…
That’s how I met DM Scotty. I had seen him, of course, on the DM’s craft, making purple worms out of toilet paper rolls and dungeonscapes out of corrugated cardboard. His YouTube channel, The DM’s Craft, was (and still is!) one of the inspirations for my own, and when he invited me to game with him over Zoom, I jumped at the chance—not just because he’s one of my YouTube idols, but because he was going to run his top-secret EZD6 system.
Some folks say you shouldn’t meet your idols—that it’s often a disappointing experience. But Scotty was just as enthusiastic and gregarious as he is onscreen, and EZD6 was even cooler than I could have imagined! When I received the beta rules, I was blown away. Within 10 minutes I completely understood the system and created a completely original, detailed character. Pretty soon my playtest group were furiously hacking our way through a sewer filled with rat men.
EZD6 is immediately understandable to experienced gamers and accessible to new ones. You never need to stop to look up rules—everything is right there on your character sheet. Spells can be created on the spot. Karma and hero dice allow players lots of choices. Exploding dice mean you can potentially kill anything—and monsters can kill you.
To my mind, the fast, elegant EZd6 rules allow the game to be more immersive and intuitive—more like watching a movie than playing a TTRPG. So, grab a handful of d6s and let the fun begin!

Fae's Anatomy: A Melodramatic Medical Mystery April 03, 2022 at 01:38PM
Publisher: Hebanon Games
Fae’s Anatomy is a comedic storytelling RPG wrapped around a challenging logic puzzle, recreating the high-stakes melodrama of medical procedurals like Grey’s Anatomy, House, and General Hospital.
NO PH.D REQUIRED
Anybody can be an expert in Fae’s Anatomy. The game is set in a world where all forms of magic, spirituality, and mysticism are science. Science? Just another form of wizardry. Quackary, superstition, and pseudo-science work, but so does chemotherapy, antibiotics, and sound medicine.
REPLAYABILITY AND CHALLENGE
Fae’s Anatomy can generate one of up to 10,000 supernatural diseases from a single dice roll. The book contains the same diagnostic manual characters would use to find a cure, and the contents are even app-assisted to help sort through the possibilities. Is the Patient’s fever the result of a viral infection, or pyrokinesis? Is that extra hair a sign of early-onset lycanthropy, or a glandular problem?
A CURE FOR CHRONIC GAMEMASTERING
The Patient is a player too! Certain rules variants obscure the answer to the diagnostic puzzle from everyone. Patients must act out an escalating list of mysterious symptoms for the doctors, despite having few clues as to which disease is causing the problems. Roleplay well...or die!
M.D. STANDS FOR MELODRAMA
The rest of the players are Providers, medical professionals dedicated to finding a cure. But being a doctor is stressful! Our medical heroes need to steal medications from the pharmacy, make out in broom closets, and misbehave until medicine becomes interesting enough to watch on television. In Fae’s Anatomy, behaving like a messy drama queen is an essential tool for saving lives!

Publisher: Cheatin' Fair Games
Faereld, an Old English word meaning Journey, is a rules-lite, Sword & Sorcery, TTRPG zine. Faereld focuses on storytelling over mechanics. In a typical TTRPG the GM decides the level of the challenge, and then scours their monster manuals to find creature of an appropriate level. With Faereld, the GM decides the type of challenge they want, and sets the requirements as appropriate. Without the need for hundreds of monster or NPC stat blocks, Faereld GMs are limited only by their imagination.

You live on Orbus, a patchwork world where communities of many different genres co-exist in perfect equilibrium and harmony; or did, until the medieval Fantasy Kingdom started growing beyond its borders. The Kingdom now threatens to crush all the world's ecosystems under the weight of its played-out tropes, lazy anachronisms, and cultlike domination!
If you're as sick to death as I am of medieval fantasy—especially as embodied by the World's Most Popular Roleplaying Game and its countless imitators—then this is your game!
You play a hero (or possibly a clown-masked slasher) who is called upon to beat back and ultimately destroy the malignant Fantasy Kingdom that threatens to swallow the world!
Fantasy Kingdom Must DIE! is a lightweight 2-page game based on Cezar Capacle's PUSH SRD. It can be played either solo or with a group and, while ideal for one-shots, is full of ideas that could be expanded upon for more elaborate campaigns.

Yes, we were monsters. We had our difficulties and problems, but we were a community, held up by mighty pillars; we did little harm and kept to ourselves, we even worked together to make things better.
Then the Terrors came.
Fighting Monsters is a story-telling and drawing game.
Players work together to create a community of monsters and then each takes the role of a Pillar of the community: unique members of this monster society that help hold things together and guide the others.
Then something terrible will happen: Terrors, beings of great power and size, will come and snatch away one of the Pillars. The game then explores how the community handles this loss and what permanent effects it has on its members.
Supports 2-6 players and requires writing/drawing implements, paper, cue cards, and a deck of standard playing cards (Jokers removed.).
Feedback welcome!

I try to hide my excitement. After all, it’s not captainly to have a boyish grin on my face. Captainish?
It doesn’t matter. I get to the bridge without incident. A few seconds later, I’m in my seat, strapped down in the harness. I know the vertex drive is gentle, but it feels right. From her own chair, Oliana reaches out to me.
“Ready for this?”
I clasp her hand in mine.
“We are.”

What's the premise?
Fluxfall Horizon is a Powered by the Apocalypse RPG involving players who "lance" or jump from parallel Earth to parallel Earth, originally starting from an ultra-tech future and wrestling with both local problems as well as secret personal objectives.
Fluxfall Horizon includes:
-
Powered-by-the-Apocalypse rules: 8 Core Moves, 3 Meta Moves
-
Character Creation for 10 playsheets
-
How to Prep/Run a Session
-
Parallel Earth, Team Goal and NPC generator tables
-
Printable GM sheets for tracking PC, Earth and Team Goal details
-
Consent questionnaire and consent tracking sheet for GM
-
Seven scenarios full of rollable tables for fast GM prep
Key Features
-
World is always changing: At the heart of the game is the conceit that Lancers are using quantum disentanglement equipment that is harming the Continuum, a sort of living, breathing omnipresence. And each time the Continuum is harmed, the Lancers are forced to an adjacent parallel Earth, one where most of the details are the same but some... aren't. This kaleidoscope of worlds is the harsh new reality for Lancers.
-
The Put Right: There is a way to heal the Continuum, and that is to solve one kind of problem or another. Referred to as a "Put Right," this team goal can improve the version of Earth that lancers find themselves on, and possibly give them a shot at returning Home.
-
Secret Objective: Each Lancer harbors their own secret goal, and by design it is at odds with those of other and possibly the Put Right as well. The mechanical reward for fulfilling this objective is character advancement, which is not necessarily a concern in one-shot play. But as far as one-shots, survival and the Put Rights should be more than enough to occupy players.
-
Gear, Specials and Conceits: The game also features smaller mechanics that affect what would otherwise be vanilla PbtA structure. Basic gear is anything and can be easily acquired, within reason. But Special Gear offers one kind of material advantage or another to a Move roll. Specials and Conceits are further mechanical mods that are specific to the playsheet.
-
Quantum Powers: Certain roleplay triggers, which differ for each character Type, earn Disentanglement points. Enough of these points will unlock stat upgrades and Quantum Powers. Quantum Powers are supernatural powers that Lancers wield to to do a number of different things like phase through matter, create illusions, intuit secrets, heal others or cause harm.
The Playsheets
-
Junior Exec: The only thing standing between you and the promotion that will mark your career launching into the stratosphere is this one lance. How bad could it be?
-
Senior Exec: You’re a little old to be doing any more derry-do time lances, but every single one has only bolstered your status on the board. Lancing is good for your health.
-
Soldier: Most of the questions everyone’s asking you are above your paygrade, and frankly you’d like to know the answers to them as well. You personally volunteered for this elite assignment, though, and you’ve trained for this.
-
Officer: You’ve been inside the need-to-know military intelligence bubble for longer than you can remember. And if there’s one thing you can say about it all, it’s thatlancing is bad for the health of your Earth. But that’s not your problem. You’ve got your orders.
-
Planetologist: The rigors of the study of planetology have yielded you the greatest status among scientists, apart from quantalogists. You have learned so much about the complex, interlocking systems of a planet.
-
Quantologist: Your science is the backbone of ChronoCorp. Your understanding is based purely on hard work: mathematical modeling and years-long thesis projects. Your understanding of quantum entanglement makes you extraordinarily rare and valuable.
-
Neophyte: Your parents contacted the Order when you were still very young. Robed figures came and you began a curriculum meant to harness your abilities. As you passed into adolescence, the Order and its esoteric goals became your life.
-
Elder: You have seen the edge of time and space itself, but what has frightened you more is what you have seen in the boardrooms of ChronoCorp. They know not what they do, and your burden is heavy. The Order does more than just protect the Continuum.
-
Tourist: Can you put a price on legacy? To be one of the first 500 quantum tourists in all of history? Actually, yes, there is a price. When you add up the ChronoCorp lance and technology lease fees, the training, insurance policy and PR, it’s about $750 million per trip. Quick round trip but worth every penny.
-
Bystander: You may have been a junior technician, a janitor or just a buddy of an employee at ChronoCorp. But now you’ve got a Transceiver Puck and a very real disruptor pistol strapped to your belt. You didn’t sign up for this. You certainly didn’t pay for this. But now you’re a lancer.

Price: $9.00Grizzled Adventurers April 11, 2022 at 11:13PM
Publisher: Flatland Games
Old friends are the best friends...
Grizzled Adventurers is a lightweight roleplaying game that helps you design a party of experienced heroes and run them through a dungeon in a single evening. The game is designed to tell stories about those heroes who never retired: the battle-scarred warrior who cannot put down the sword, the haunted mage who still thirsts for more, and the thief who has lost a couple fingers but gained a few fortunes.
Youth and exuberance is no match for old age and experience...
This game focuses on the core part of the adventure the same way a fantasy or action movie would: by showing us why our heroes are friends and then getting them right into the thick of it.
• Familiar rules for running experienced fantasy heroes through a quick dungeon
• Perfect for game nights when a player or two are out
• Play mid-level characters with the experience to take on anything (or so they think)
• Build custom dungeons on the fly to suit the evening’s heroes
• Survive just one more adventure so that you can impress the youth

GROK?! May 03, 2022 at 03:08PM
Publisher: Lester Burton
GROK?! is an adventure role-playing game where you assume the role of an adventurer in a gonzo world of boundless plausibility and use your ingenuity and resourcefulness to overcome strange and perilous threats.
Planet Grok was once a haven for trans-dimensional migrants and a bastion of advanced technomancy, until a cataclysm rendered it a desolate hollow planet. Now, feral monstrosities haunt its chasms, cities float among the clouds, and a derelict space station encapsulates the planet and bathes the world in perpetual phosphorescent radiation. Yet, a new era of enlightenment is dawning. Civilizations grow from the ashes, relics of immense power await those who would learn their lost secrets, and threats of caste warfare loom as leaders vie for power. All the while, a creeping black nothingness peers up through the hollow of the world.
Inspired by the core tenets of old-school adventure games, GROK?! was influenced by greater works such as Cortex Prime, Electric Bastionland, Fate Core, Freeform Universal, Index Card RPG, Knave, Numenera, Savage Worlds, Shadow of the Demon Lord, Technoir, Troika!, and Vagabonds of Dyfed.
Universal action resolution system with description based modifiers.
- A universal resolution system means that every action a character takes is resolved the same way, whether they're fighting a mecha-zombie, casting a magic spell, or bartering for equipment.
- Description based modifiers means that any relevant part of the world can have a mechanical affect on a character's action, and vice versa.
- Together, this allows for highly improvisational gameplay and encourages ingenuity and resourcefulness.
Player facing fail-forward mechanic, with non-binary outcomes.
- Action outcomes are never arbitrary; they always affect the world in some way.
- A player-facing mechanic allows players to have an understanding of how likely they are to succeed at an action, at least from their character's perspective.
- The fail-forward mechanic gives players leverage to make difficult in-character choices, and expands the range of non-binary outcomes at the same time.
Slot based resource and damage management system
- An all-inclusive resource and damage management system means that the amount of resources they keep with them is constrained by the failure of their actions.
- This also ties in directly with the description based resolution system and player facing fail-forward mechanic.
- As a result, character traits, actions, equipment, spells, and damage all work within a cohesive system.
The PDF of GROK?! comes with both a full-color and B&W version of the rulebook.
Hippogryph (Director's Cut) April 26, 2022 at 02:37PM
Publisher: Lightspress Media
A hippogryph is a strange paradox, combining the elegance of a giant eagle with the stability of a horse. It is a hybrid of two things that cannot logically go together. Somehow the unlikely remix produces something that elevates both of its antecedents. Throughout time, the mythical hippogryph has symbolized everything from the contradictory nature of religious belief to the unyielding power of romantic love. For me, it represents how the whole can be more than the sum of its parts. Lofty yet grounded. Poetic yet practical.
Hippogryph is so named because it is full of such dichotomies. My strongest influences are structured legacy systems like Dungeons & Dragons and lighter, more free-form mechanics like those found in Fate. My goal with this system has been to leverage the strengths of each style, use them to compensate for their collective limitations, and create something singular, entertaining, and practical.
The system you are about to read began as a hybrid of the D20 SRD and Fate Accelerated. The horse and the eagle. Not a conversion of one to the other, but a whole, new thing incorporating the strengths of both. I like how it turned out. Hopefully, you will enjoy it for what it is.
This book includes:
- Systems: All of the information necessary to run a game, including the core mechanic, the use of hero points, and more.
- Characters: The character creation system, explanations of abilities, and prompts for creating backgrounds.
- Equipment: Mechanics and statistics for weapons, magic items, and other tools.

Science fantasy is a hybrid genre that draws upon and combines tropes and elements from science fiction and fantasy. Not all fantasy takes place in some pseudo-medieval, quasi-historical setting. Urban fantasy combines the familiar and the strange, using selected imaginary elements in an approximation of the real world. These elements, including magic and paranormal beings, often exist secretly in the world. The urban component is found in the setting, typically a city or suburban community. The use of contemporary technology, community, and social institutions establishes a recognizable context. The period in which the action occurs may be the fairly recent past or the near future, but will only require casual historical knowledge from the player and gamemaster.

You play someone who has ambiguous and antagonistic magick powers and lives with one foot in a personal delusional psychoscape, struggling to make it in a society that scans some strangeness as diseased and some as fine with capricious inconsistency.

Publisher: Bannerless Games
KILLER RATINGS is a one-shot, zero-prep, rules-light tabletop roleplaying game for 3 to 5 players and a Director. The players are the cast and crew of a terrible paranormal investigation show on the verge of cancellation. The good news is you’ve secured the rights to film the season finale in “the most haunted location in America.” The bad news is the place is actually really haunted, and you may well be completely boned.
As loud, campy reality TV stars, your gift for melodrama will be all you need to wake the dead – and may well be your key to survival once the haunting goes sideways. If it doesn’t get you killed first.
In short, you play some of the worst people on earth as they blithely walk into one of the worst places on earth, and most of you won't survive. But however it shakes out, it should make for great TV.
Killer Ratings cover is by Benjamin Hall.
TargMargs: The Official Killer Ratings Hack
TARGMARGS is the official hack for KILLER RATINGS, funded by the generous backers at Indiegogo. Rather than playing reality TV ghost hunters investigating a Haunt for signs of a Ghost, you are tipsy friends wandering a superstore late at night. Instead of Provoking the Ghost into hunting you, you're causing Shenanigans until Security is alerted.
In the meantime you might engage in shopping cart destruction derbies, take to the PA for some light yodeling, or build a fort out of merchandise. But when the time comes to flee, you'd better boot and rally -- or Security might confiscate all your cool stuff.

MOURN: A Retro FPS Styled TTRPG May 27, 2022 at 06:57PM
Publisher: Ethan H. Reynolds
PREFACE
Darkness, death, and despair. Three things this world has known for far too long.
On the moon of Delta 4, far beyond the soiled Earth humanity left behind hundreds of years ago, there was an age of unbridled peace for generations. Wars were viewed as unnecessary, famine became a dark tale told by fathers to troublesome children, and the many plagues that haunted humans since their birth had all but become a distant memory.
This peace was deep and cherished, giving humanity a golden age unknown on their previous home planet.
That was, until the Qyu appeared.
The Qyu, a warrior people from a planet farther than one can fathom, that contains thousands of species of conquered species, set fire to Delta 4, reducing many cities that once shone with bright towers now to piles of ash and cinders. The people-led government, the communal systems, and the vibrant cultures of the once great moon fell under the iron fist of tyranny and dictatorship. Kindness turned to capital, freedom turned to fear, and knowledge turned to nepotism.
Now, only some factions of humanity remains on Delta 4, barely clinging to the formerly illustrious society they once cherished. All seemed lost, for surely no one could stand up to the might of the Qyu.
That was, until you arrived.
GAMEPLAY
MOURN is a fast, lethal, and easy-to-learn game just as the games this game is inspired from (DOOM, DUSK, Blood, Amid Evil). Rip and tear through hordes of enemies with your allies using only coin flips to decide your fates.
This game includes…
- DEVASTATING weaponry that adds a layer of strategy to every encounter
- INNOVATIVE use of mathematics in its multiples-of-5 system and coin flip skill checks
- IMMERSIVE lore that can make your world as interesting as possible
- HUNDREDS of ways you can customize your character through a simple, yet masterful, character creation process
This game will surely satisfy anyone looking to crave the itch of playing a retro FPS styled game in a tabletop format.

Mysterium Weird Fiction Roleplaying [BETA] May 24, 2022 at 08:09PM
Publisher: Svartkonst
To the casual observer reality may seem solid and stable, however this is unfortunately not the case. Our universe is just one of an infinite multitude that has emanated from the Abyss and they all overlap and interact with each other. Ravenous predators stalk the worlds and powers from beyond use us as pawns in a game that we can not conceive of.
Mysterium is a weird fiction roleplaying game where ordinary modern day people become exposed to the paranormal and the unknown, either by encountering an intrusion from beyond or being thrust into another world themselves.
The game is about how the player characters handle this confrontation with strange forces and entities and in what way they become changed by this. Are they consumed by fear or seduced by fascination? Do they turn their backs and run, or do they leap into the unknown? And what are the consequences of their choices?
Mysterium is played with one Game Moderator and two or more players and uses a simple and intuitive d100-based rules system. This book includes a chapter on setting up roleplaying campaigns inspired by weird fiction, and two scenarios: The Door to the Unknown and Lost and Found.

The following game was my first. I don't consider to be good, or at all acceptable, hence the price. But some may enjoy its subject matter enough to overlook any problems.
National Roleplaying Game (N-RPG) is an attempt to apply the mechanics of a tabletop roleplaying game to a simulation of politics. Similar to popular fantasy RPGs, it involves rolling dice to determine character traits, a game master that describes the story and surroundings, and open ended player decision making possibilities.
Players assume control of the rulers of nations. It is their responsibility to make decisions and edicts, maintain diplomatic relations, conduct political campaigns, declare wars, and pass laws, in accordance with what is best from the point of view of the player character so that they may obtain victory points to compete with other players. All the while, the game master will describe the events of the political landscape, as well as the effects of player decisions.
This rulebook is all that is necessary to play the game. It contains in depth procedures for character and nation creation, the core game mechanics, and all of the necessary procedures for conducting wars, elections, insurgencies, diplomacy, and any other political actions that the player may choose to take as they vie for political supremacy either at home or internationally.

NOT THE END QUICKSTART
Not the End is a roleplaying game that tells the adventures of Heroes willing to risk everything for what they hold dear, with an original game system called HexSys.
In Not the End, each Hero is described by keywords placed in a hive of hexagons, each representing one of their distinctive traits. How the hexagons relate to each other within the hive creates bonds that make each Hero unique.
Not the End uses HexSys, a system created specifically for this game, which, instead of using dice to resolve conflicts and dangerous situations, uses tokens of different colors, to represent successes and complications. Each trial the characters face will add something to the story and the game world, making the outcome of each trial unique and different from previous ones.
Heroes will also be affected by the choices they make and they will change and evolve as the story progresses.
Not the End is the result of extensive design work, involving the entire Fumble team and over a hundred playtesters, who have played many different versions of the game in every possible setting and situation.
Be ready to risk, rise, fail, and get back up.
This is Not the End!

PANOPTIC (“all-seeing”) is a freeform GMless roleplaying game.
By freeform, we mean it lacks a predefined structure. Its ultralight rules encourage unrestrained creative freedom.
By GMless, we mean Panoptic does not need a Director or Game Master. Collaborative storytelling drives the narrative.
These characteristics make Panoptic ideal for one-shot sessions that feel like ’80s B movies. Players should suspend their disbelief and take the absurd and unforeseen as the rule rather than the exception.
This game relies on improvisation and creativity to drive fun and storytelling. Like all games, Panoptic requires focus and energy. Please put aside your shyness, your worries and your cellphones.
This is the ideal RPG system for game masters suffering from burnout or players looking to practice storytelling.
Price: $0.00Paranoid Android May 18, 2022 at 03:07PM
Publisher: Armanda Haller
This is a sci-fi solo journaling game about existential dread. In it, you play as a blue-collar worker on Asimov Landing Station, a place on the far edge of the galaxy, manned by only a skeleton crew, most of them scientists doing research. Nothing ever happens there. The atmosphere in the Station has started changing and it hasn’t escaped your notice. Furthermore, several things have gone wrong or malfunctioned in non-critical but totally avoidable ways. As the war with the androids rages across the galaxy, the government has discovered that androids have the capacity to perfectly mimic human beings. Following this dramatic announcement, things have begun to go wrong in more significant ways: research has been delayed, the station’s systems have broken down at critical moments, and people have disappeared. Station security has singled you out as a suspicious person and they’ve taken you in for questioning. As the interrogation goes on, you begin to doubt yourself - you know some androids are sleeper agents, unaware that they’re not really human until activated. Could you be one of them? The journal you’ll keep throughout this game will serve as the transcript of your interrogation.
This game is a love letter to Battlestar Galactica, Blade Runner, and Blade Runner 2049. The inspiration came from a really intense captcha wanting to know if I was a robot. Seems like I was cause I couldn't get through it. Or maybe I just have bad sight and some traffic light was too small.

Price: $0.00Pistol Dust April 14, 2022 at 07:19PM
Publisher: Pistol Dust
Pistol Dust is a Weird West meets High Fantasy Tabletop RPG with heavy emphasis on customizability. Pistol Dust forgoes class limitations in exchange for using experience to directly influence Talents, Abilities, and Skills.
One part "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly," one part a certain massively popular fantasy TTRPG, and designed from the ground up for modularity of class design to build your Hat, the character you will play. Pistol Dust straddles the Wild West and High Fantasy together into a world of robots, mages, gunslingers, and warcrimes. Ranging from the urban wastelands of Offerside to the far rabid reaches of the resettled West, the world lies torn in the wake of the great war between Elves, and everyone else. What your band of ragtag Hats does in this new world is up to your Storyteller and the limits of their imagination!
Instead of a traditional class systems, Pistol Dust encourages you to mix and match between features in several Archetypes with an Experience Point buy-in system. Do you want to make a bar-room brawler with a PHD who settles things with his fists and wits? Do you want to play a gunslinger wizard who hurls meteors from an overengineered revolver? Do you want to play a knight who doubles as a sinuous dancer? A priest that moonlights as a necromancer? You can do all of that! The possibilities are endless, and it's very easy to make most concepts a reality.
On the flip side of Talents, which you purchase to give your Hat special things they can do, there are Troubles. We've all got a bit or two about ourselves that makes life a little more difficult, so why shouldn't our characters have the same? Giving your character a Trouble gives you bonus experience points to spend in exchange for penalties. Troubles range from blood lust to cowardice, from needing glasses to anxiety.
Pistol Dust is a 2d12 system, which allows for a mechanic called Luck. Whenever a player rolls a 13 on dice it triggers a Luck Roll: each Hat has their own Luck Score that they roll against and if they beat their luck score something good happens, such as finding something you weren’t looking for, or scoring a critical hit! Roll below, and you'll regret it!
And while there are guns and plenty of machinations running around, there's also magic! However, rather than having spell slots or something like a mana pool to cast, Pistol Dust employs a mana health system. Spellcasters have a Lucidity score which represents their clarity of mind: whenever they attempt to cast a spell they must make a Backlash Check based on the difficulty of the spell. If they fail, they take Lucidity damage, and with spells having a variety of options to expand their effects by increasing the difficulty, each spell becomes a game of risk and reward. Ask yourself; how much are you willing to risk to make sure that your spell counts? If your Lucidity hits 0, you're instantly knocked unconscious, setting you up to be Coup De Gras'd by an enemy.

Abducted from Earth long ago, man suffered genetic experimentation by a race of aliens known as the Archons. Humanity survived on the moons of Kerogo... The Archons warred with an enemy they could not defeat. They are now extinct, but humanity survived...
Man found the technological artifacts left by the Archons, leading to a series of despots and wars. Even through this, humanity survived... Awakened from its long slumber, Living Metal from the time of the Archons now attempts to restore the ancient cities, capture new test subjects, and cull the rest...
It is up to heroes and men of vision to determine whether humanity can survive this latest peril.
The Moons of Kerogo haunt your waking hours... Night after endless night, you hear their call... It is time to take up your sword once again... Adventure and romance await...
The simple rules system rates every skill, challenge, and foe by a single die (d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, or d20; and rarely d100). This means that only two dice are rolled for actions, one for each side, representing either ability or difficulty. The difference between the two rolls determines the degree of success or failure.
Features:
- Setting information to run games on one or more of Kerogo's moons.
- Random encounter tables for cities and the wilderness, as well as guides for creating new animals, plants, and societies.
- Orders of good, cults of evil, and other organizations for use as story ideas, patrons, and motivations.
- In addition to the four species of man, four alien races are also described.
- A number of common and dangerous animals are provided as threats, mounts, and general obstacles.
- Ancient artifacts, various forms of Living Metal, seaships, skyships, and more can be used or faced by the characters.

They are the best Cog City has to offer: they are members of the Holming Beacon Detective Agency. Do you have what it takes to join their ranks?
From the Office of Holming Beacon Detective Agency
You are robots, solving crimes and keeping Cog City safe! You all work for Holming Beacon Detective Agency, run by the seasoned detective Shellblock Holming. His directive is to hand out cases to his one-to-six-detective crews.
During the game, players are referred to as detectives, and the game master is referred to as the Boss. The Boss plays the role of the various nonplayer characters that the detectives will come into contact with, as well as creating cases the detectives are working to solve.
What is the DayLITE System?
The DayLITE system is built to be narratively open with some basic rules.
We decided to go with a d12 because the d12 just doesn't get enough love. It was easy from there to build in the bonuses and multiples of three. I pulled a lot of inspiration from City of Mist, Quest, and PBTA – all of which are amazing games – by really leaving what happens around the die roll and when to use the die roll up to the Boss in RoboNoir in this case.
So let us say you are trying to tail someone, the Boss might ask you to roll an Instinct check, you would add your bot’s bonus and see if you had anything that might come into play when doing on a tail based on the bot you pick. That I really drew on from City of Mist with their Logos and Mythos tags: I wanted to make a very cinematic and easy to pick up system that would allow for maximum fluidity between Boss and detective.

You've seen him from your vantage point in the hills, wandering through the high grasses by the trade road's side. His eyes are sharp, his blade is red, and his face is set in an emotionless mask.
It is that last part that concerns you.
Less than a moon ago, he was the governor of this province. Now deposed, he wanders the pampas fields and the byways, whittling away at the troops of the rival that unseated him.
His family is dead. You know this. His closest friends and advisors are bodies cooling in the summer air.
And yet, your greatest worry is not that he will join them---it is that he will succeed in his mission of retribution. And when he does, he will inflict every harsh lesson his heart has just learned upon the beasts and bandits and villagers of this land.
Unaware of his own suffering, he will become a tyrant.
Thus, you have gathered in the hills. Thus, you have watched him.
It is still possible to save him, you believe, although you can't do so by standing in his way.
You will have to approach him obliquely, ask for favors, beg for aid, tell him of opportunities, and show him that there is a world beyond the iron armor of his own sorrow.
If you succeed, it still may not save any lives, but it will at least save one soul.

STAGED HEROISM
Staged Heroism is a comedy/action tabletop roleplaying game about legacies and failure, a rules-light love letter to Saturday morning cartoons of years past as well as contemporary super-hero cartoons that bend (and sometimes nuke) the tropes of the genre.
It’s a game filled with hilarious heists, super-heroics, and absurd plans for world domination gone delightfully awry.
In short, it's a love-letter to and inspired by The Venture Bros.
(Just to be clear, familiarity with The Venture Bros. is NOT necessary to play and enjoy this game. You don't even need to give a crap about the TV show. )

Publisher: Stillfleet
Stillfleet is a new tabletop RPG about exploring ruined spacecraft—hulks—and habitable earth-like planets, cut off from contact with Terra for decades or centuries—rocks.
Players take the roles of "voidminers"—explorers working for the Worshipful Company of Stillfleeters, more often known simply as the Co. Their home, the alien space station nicknamed Spindle—a sea slug made of undulating black stone, kilometers tall—is a mystery to its own inhabitants. It brims with timespace gates called stiffworks, many of which are already tacked to habitable worlds…
This Quickstart contains over forty pages of rules, aliens, settings, and random tables, as well as a separate document with nine Pregenerated Characters—different species and classes—and a blank character sheet (editable PDF). More game resources are available on our website and Discord server.
As heard on the podcast Fun City, the Stillfleet rules system is unique and highly flexible. We've playtested it with old-school RPG fans, new-school gamers, sci-fi fans, and random passersby. Look out for the Stillfleet Core Rulebook in 2022!
NOTE: this product is the print version of the Quickstart Rules. It comes with a (free) PDF version as well. The redactions in the print version are visible in the PDF.
☉
More about the game:
Stillfleet is a tabletop roleplaying game (RPG) about exploring ruined spacecraft—“hulks”—as well as habitable earth-like planets long-ago colonized by terrans but then cut off from contact with the greater galaxy for decades or centuries—“rocks.”
Thus Stillfleet is really two different games, one hulkside—a series of grimdark explorations of advanced technical structures, hanging in the void—and the other rockside—a political game about managing a company distributed across space.
Players take the roles of various explorers working as part of the Worshipful Company of Stillfleeters, more often known simply as “the Company,” abbreviated the Co. Theoretically, the players are working together… In practice, this is not always the case.
The term “stillfleet” comes from the fact that many planets were once colonized by humans, and that most of these planets (or all of them?) are orbited even today by massive, “dead” ships. However advanced, these ships never work as originally designed.
Their tachyon drives are unpowered, their dimension mills broken. To reach them, fleeters use not other ships but the timespace gates called stiffworks.

Publisher: Unshackled Cosmonaut
All too often, yet never frequently enough, humanity takes advantage of the opportunity to stare back at the course of history in wonderment at how they were ever able to survive the myriad of disasters which target us with something of a depressing frequency. Chief among the list of the near apocalypses are the meteors that struck the world and continue to make their presence felt even now, more than two hundred years after their impact changed the face of the world and steered the course of humanity.
The floating Shroud Cities are ruled, at the time of publication, by the latest official descendants of the founding families who vie with one another over deals and plot against each other in a baffling web of secrets, lies and machinations. The effects of which are felt across the face of each of the cities. The leaders of the families brook no revolutionary ideas and maintain a strict control over which technologies and sciences may be developed.
The Shroud Cities are anything but safe for the casual visitor. Pirates and other such members of the criminal classes lie in wait for the unwary to fall into their rapscallious clutches. Concerned individuals are encouraged to keep a loaded weapon or deadly blade upon their person at all times as personal protection is left entirely up to the individual. Caution should be exercised in drawing these weapons though because duels of honour, insult and personal grievances are regularly fought with fist, sword, gun and aircraft. Once again the observer is advised to do so cautiously as it is not unknown for the violence of the combat to spill out into the streets.
With the assistance of the players the story which unfolds will see their characters aligning with different factions. Do they choose to be noble soldiers fighting against the pirate scum of the skies or do they choose to become a tribal infiltration team who have smuggled themselves onto the cities with the intent of bringing down their hated enemies?
Perhaps they even take to the skies under the mantle of pirates and corsairs who have no plan other than to take advantage of the chaos which surrounds them. Whatever alliances the characters start off with will change and warp as the dark history and dynamic shifting politics forces even the most closed minded of individuals to look for fresh allies.
Tea and Tesla isn’t merely a game of good versus evil. Instead it’s a game about humanity and the things they’ll do in order to protect that little slice of the world they have carved out for themselves.
Revolutions Dawn.

Sarah,
It’s been a while since I wrote. There has been lots of shelling, but we’re safe down in the trenches.
It doesn’t look like anything’s going to change before the holidays. I know they said we’d be back by November, but we’re probably going to stay over the winter.
It’s nice in a way. We have plenty of firewood, so we aren’t getting cold.
The worst we had to deal with was Private Anderson’s pet rat getting into the potatoes.
The Game
The Empire Wants You is a game of juxtaposition. You have war overseas, and the peace (if disrupted) of the home-front.
Although not strictly based on any historic events, I drew most of my inspiration from Britain in the First World War.
It takes place in seasons—first on the home-front, then on the battlefield.
As each season passes, the war rages on and the characters you play must survive while taking care of each other from a distance.
System: Breathless (customized)
Type: Stand-alone game

THE NINE GATES is a compact RPG based on the 'Hacker's Core' D6 system from Viking Death Squad (also published by Runehammer). '
This simple D6 dice pooling system has been simplified and 'essentialized' here for one purpose: to create a convention-friendly rpg!
Nine Gates also uses tri-fold character pamphlets, and a print-and-fold booklet for 'The Arbiter' who runs the game. These resources make convention play fast, portable, and easy to get in players' hands, even minutes before a session.
One thing very few convention-built RPGs solve, though, is the job of the GM as far as adventure, encounter, or scenario construction. THE NINE GATES solves this with the use of a standard TAROT deck, and it is awesome.
Can you and your companions defeat Mizzlebohg in the tower of Candlespire? Let's play to find out.
-Full rules to use tarot, roll dice, run monsters, win and lose
-Nine pregenerated heroes with build options on tri-fold pamphlets
-An 8 page 'Arbiter's Guide' for wheoever runs teh session/reads the tarot
-Includes 2 PDFs: 1 for printing foldable resources, and one for easy digital reading

Ragnarökr unfolded as prophesied to Óðinn the All-Father by the three Nornir. Fenrisúlfr the wolf escaped his bonds and the forces of gods and monsters gathered for battle. The war was bloody and fearsome. Whole landscapes burned. Gods and heroes died entwined in battle with monsters and jötnar. The Vanir Freyja took pity on the humans being slaughtered in their masses and cast them to Járnheimr, a hidden, bleak land known only to a few; a secret prison where the most wicked of all races were banished.
Now you must gather a warband to explore this icy wasteland to protect your clan from fierce beasts, terrifying monsters, and starvation. Raise a drinking horn and sharpen your axe!
This two page scenario for Zadmar Games Tricube Tales presents a mythically inspired post-Ragnarökr viking campaign. Page two includes an example of how to expand the adventure generator tables. It is a self-contained role playing game with everything needed to run a session and is easily adapted for any fantasy setting.
For more information on the setting of Járnheimr, check out my product The Orphans of Ragnarökr. Though written for the Ironsworn RPG, it is largely system neutral. Within you will find information on the races, magic, and cultures of those cursed to live in this frozen prison land.

The Terminator RPG June 01, 2022 at 05:54PM
Publisher: Nightfall Games
The Terminator RPG is the official roleplaying game based on The Terminator movie and associated graphic novels published by Dark Horse comics. It is the sourcebook for the first Terminator film and its expanded universe and extrapolates from hardcore existing canon to create a living and breathing world with a multitude of possible and probable timelines.
Join the Human Resistance
The world is a wasteland—broken by the machines we built. Our own creations, our own hubris. Not in some distant future. Today. Now. The machines think they have won, but there is one last chance for humankind; a secret weapon that Skynet, in its infinite calculations, could never have anticipated: You.
Play in any time—including the 1980s and future war. All the main characters from the movie, such as Sarah Connor, Kyle Reese, and the T-800 are included, as is content from the graphic novels and all all-new, never seen before Terminator variants and hardware.
The rulebook includes two mission packs, enabling you to relive The Terminator movie and to join the fight to bring down Skynet in a not-so-distant future war.
You play resistance fighters struggling against the machine onslaught of Skynet in an alternative and post-apocalyptic version of today—the once "far future" of the 2020s. You can take the role of rebel time travellers sent back to various points in time to stop Skynet from altering history. You can even play natives of any historical time period, targeted by Terminators and trying to stay alive as a future hell is unleashed around you.
The book is designed as a toolbox to allow the Director to create their own campaigns or one-shots, including detailed campaign arcs, campaign seeds, mini-missions, NPCs, weapons, detailed locations, and enemy characters.
You have the option to play either pre-generated characters or to create your own—tailored to your preferences, weapon choices, and role within your team. If your character is killed, a new one can be brought in from the future, past, or present. That new character can be many things—including even an alternate you from a divergent timeline.
The game has been built from the ground up to both evoke the tone of the film and place you in the middle of the action. The terror and desperation of facing unstoppable killing machines are yours to bear. Only united with your fellow resistance fighters can you hope to defeat them.
The Terminator RPG features Nightfall Games’ S5S System, first seen in SLA Industries 2nd Edition. The S5S is a d10-based rules system that uses a pool of dice: one Success die, and five Skill dice per player. The more skilled your character is in the task being attempted, the more likely you are to succeed and "succeed big."
The rules set have been tailored specifically to The Terminator RPG setting. Combat, survival, and investigation are all dealt with in the rules, along with vehicle combat, time travel, and computer hacking, allowing your character to take control of the conflict with unique skills and training. You'll need all of this and more to take the fight across the timelines and survive.

The Mechanics
A simple roll decides actions within Push-Powered games like Transient Souls. Whenever a character attempts something dramatically interesting, roll 1d6 and compare:
-
A 7 or higher is a Miss, something goes wrong
-
A 5 or 6 is a Strong Hit. the character succeeds
-
A 4 or lower is a Weak Hit. Players can choose to roll and add another 1d6 to their total, and compare again.
With this simple, push your luck mechanic, complex actions and stories can be told.
Character creation is as simple as a few choices or rolls and all the materials required to play can be collapsed onto 4 pages plus the character sheet. Arc Pages, 3 of these reference sheets, are home to quick rules references and the narrative prompts for each stage of play. The 4th page is the character reference sheet, containing character creation rules.
To Play You Need
-
1-5 players
-

Names such as James Bond, Jason Bourne, Napoleon Solo, Loraine Broughton, or even a title such as The 355, bring to mind a genre of storytelling known as the Spy Thriller. Such characters have for generations made us wish to either be them or be charmed by them.
With its roots running back two hundred years, to the publication in 1821 of James Fenimore Cooper’s Spy. Thanks to numerous movie and television adaptations and series, the spy thriller genre covers a large range of settings or themes. They run the gamut from a gritty, “more realistic” approach, used in the John Le Carre novels which feature George Smiley, to a glamorous and more exciting cinematic approach involving gadgets, high-speed chases, and parties with well-dressed, attractive protagonist as exemplified by nearly any of the James Bond films or in the recent Kingsmen feature films.
For those who want to tell these kinds of stories through their gaming, Trenchcoats and Tuxedos is here for you.

Have you ever read cosmic horror fiction—especially stories in which a curious protagonist recovers a journal detailing some poor victim’s descent into madness—and thought, “what kind of person runs into unspeakable evil and decides to meticulously document it in their diary?” Unveil puts you in the shoes of these madly scrawling victims and challenges you to tell their story. You play a doomed victim who is probed by the horror lurking just under the surface of mundane life. You will learn that these victims are not dull or greedy. Instead, the true horror is that they know the dangers inherent in their sinister discoveries but are compelled to push further into the void regardless.

Publisher: Trent Seltzer
Wardens of the Sundered Realms (WSR) is a table-top role-playing game that tells the story of a Company of Wardens, professional beast hunters in service to the High King of the Western Imperium. The Wardens travel the lands of Avren-Yara, also known as The Sundered Realms, tracking down beasts and meting out the High King’s justice.
The game is played in a series of phases that comprise travel to a hamlet beset by a beast, investigating the various aspects and behaviors of the beast, overcoming obstacles such as the beast’s minions, and finally confronting the beast in the wild or in its lair.
WSR is a narrative-first, “rules light,” story-telling game. It is not a tactical combat simulation. Dice are used to resolve uncertainty and challenges, but the scope of the dice rolls and tests is pulled back from resolving individual actions to resolving entire encounters and phases of play.
WSR is powered by Lex Kim Bobrow’s Caltrop Core. The system uses 4-sided dice to resolve tests.
The game draws inspiration from shows and movies like The Witcher and Brotherhood of the Wolf as well as games such as Agon.

It’s the year 3985.
Civilization and humanity as we know it has long since been destroyed. Engulfed in the fiery flames of atomic war while the rest of us were later killed by radiation poisoning, mutations, or the walking rotting dead that attacked any living thing.
Any remnants of the technological advancements we once knew are now vanished . . . turned to dust . . . or are nothing more than curious oddities to the current planet’s inhabitants.
The new race of humans, the ones that were reborn from the red dust of the planet, is one that is vastly different from the people we knew.
Forced to adapt, to overcome, and to survive, only the strongest genes won out.
The new race is one of superior strength, speed, and cunning set against a harsh landscape of burning hot deserts, freezing tundras, and violent wars. They are warriors who value the valor of combat above all else. However, the highest station of warriors are the Warrior Queens.
Rather than being ruled by overweight, pompous, entitled, and lazy politicians, the realms are ruled by the highest rank of warriors. The Warrior Queens.
Warrior Queens is an ultra-simple solo tabletop roleplaying game with themes focused on inspirations from grindhouse 70s and 80s sword and sorcery/sword and sandal films. Using the popular Micro RPG System, this short 60 page core rulebook creates the foundation for many mini "chapbook" expansions to come.

Publisher: Menagerie Press
Hi! I'm William Murakami-Brundage, lead designer at Menagerie Press, LLC and an independent RPG writer.
Menagerie Press is creating Westlands, a 2D6-based fantasy RPG with streamlined mechanics based on the Sword of Cepheus open game license system reference document. The 2D6 fantasy system (Traveller, Sword of Cepheus) has a true sword and sorcery feel, allowing exploration and adventure in a savage land. Action resolution is quick, putting an emphasis on story, not rules.
In Westlands, we've taken the core open-license 2D6 fantasy reference material and are adding extra content, including reworked (more dangerous!) sorcery mechanics, optional rules for simple firearms, and an expanded bestiary.
The name Westlands is a nod to the West Marches RPG campaign style, which is a much more free-form, adventure-seeking campaign where the players decide their motivations and goals, rather than being directed via the game master.
Westlands is setting-neutral, and lets you create whatever adventure you imagine. It is built on the open-license reference material for Sword of Cepheus, which is a 2D6 fantasy RPG that is rooted in earlier 2D6 science-fiction RPGs.

“So, you’re heading to Hillgate? Not many people going there.”
“Yeah, we’re doing a piece on all the old mining towns around here for a magazine.”
“I’m from Hillgate. Odd folks, that’s why I left. Be careful up there, you hear?”
“We will, thanks. Do you know where we could find a place to stay for the night?”
“Could try asking over at Murphy’s bar. He sometimes has a couple rooms open. Or maybe the church. Just wait ‘til they’re done with their meeting.”
“Thank you,” Jen says.
“Just stay away from Greenrock Mine. That place ain’t safe.”
The Game
When Shadows Rest is a Breathless cosmic horror game in an original modern setting, though a GM can adapt it to any setting with little difficulty.
The game expands on Breathless's simple and robust mechanics to deliver an experience intended for a longer multi-session game. As the players explore their world, they uncover secrets, but are tainted by what they find.
Will they be able to figure out what's going on and make it out with their lives? Or will Greenrock Mountain claim them as it has so many before them?

Publisher: The Red Room
Wretched Country does for the western genre what Wretched Bastards did for fantasy: it's an old-school game meant for playing anti-hero characters. The spaghetti western, already referenced as a source of inspiration for the OSR dark-fantasy Wretched Bastards, now takes centre stage. In this book you will find:
Wretchploitation June 24, 2022 at 09:59AM
Publisher: The Red Room
While previous Wretched games are meant to play anti-heroes, Wretchploitation goes a bit further allowing you to take the role of obvious villains, such as Dominatrix Nazi officers with a taste for blood, sadistic wardens, psycho-killers, deranged cult leaders and other distasteful personalities. Wretchploitation expands the Wretched line into exploitation movie territory, already rife with seedy anti-heroes. Whether you like violent action, in the way of blaxploitation, 70s cop movies, Hong-Kong flicks and Eurocrime, or if you would, instead, emulate the horror and gore of cannibal, zombie, Giallo and splatter films, or even if you prefer the sleaziness of sexploitation and nunsploitation, this set of rules has got you covered!
