The Mending Circle / $16.00

The Mending Circle / $16.00: Publisher: Sharkbomb

The Mending Circle tells stories of hope and healing. You come together as a coven of three witches sent to help. You are there for those that have no one by their side. You can be a helping hand, that one lucky break they need to get back on their feet.

A witch helping a little child sleep, golden magical swirls surrounding her hands, a gentle purple background behind them.

In The Mending Circle you tell healing stories together.

At their heart is always one or more of the Torn: someone in a state of pain or anxiety and in need of support. Most likely they are scared, poor, isolated or marginalized in some way that makes it difficult for them to access help themselves. This pain does not come from a physical ache but rather from a metaphorical, emotional wound. If it persists it often leads to more suffering radiating outwards.

But this Wound catches the attention of three witches that set out to help. Using your magical charms you will help and guide the process of healing. As a first step the Torn needs to reach a state of relative safety and stability. Only after this is achieved can they confront the source of their pain and gain awareness. Finally, they have to make a new meaning for themselves to move forward.

Some friendly Words

Compassionate games are vital in our chaotic world. The Mending Circle is a game focused on those who offer succor and healing to those in need. It takes great courage to be vulnerable, but this game believes in you.

- Jason Pitre (Genesis of Legend Publishing)

What I really love about The Mending Circle is that it is a game about hope and healing, but not one that is afraid to show its teeth. It's about the authentic and difficult journey that healing demands.

- Avery Ader (Buried without Ceremony)

The Mending Circle is a beautiful, heartening entry into the growing Healing Games genre that inspires players to be kind to themselves and others.

- Anna Blackwell (Apothecaria, DELVE)

A cat wandering across a witch's workbench, with crystals, candles and magical drawings coming alive scattered across it.

Playing the Game

The Mending Circle is a gm-less role-playing game for precisely three players. You use a mystical augury rite (with tarot cards, dripping wax, letter tiles etc.) to discover the basics of the Wound you have to heal. Then you narrate scenes together, exploring the world and the people of your story. A magical Wound Sigil guides your path and helps you lead the Torn towards healing.

A magical circle with three symbols representing the three stages of healing: Safety, Awareness and Meaning.

This game contains

  • A 100 page rulebook with full-color illustrations.
  • 8 aura playsheets for the different types of witches.
  • 2 help sheets making it easier to run the game.

HELLoween / $0.50: Publisher: Games 4 Geeks

Halloween is a time of year when people dress up in fancy dress, but many people have forgotten the origins of this tradition. The night is when the barriers between our world and the world of the dead are at their thinnest, and ghosts, demons and monsters can slip through into the realm of the living. Originally people would dress as the dead or as terrifying nightmares so that the invading spectres would ignore them, thinking them to also be malevolent spirits.

In HELLoween you play a group of kids or teens out trick-or-treating when the town is overrun by horrific beings from beyond. Will you be able to send them back where they belong, simply survive the night, or perish like so many others?

This game is heavily inspired by Universalis by Ralph Mazza & Mike Holmes.

There is no GM/player division like there is in traditional RPGs. Instead, all players are jointly responsible for the story and the actions of NPCs, as well as for their own PC.

FIRETEAM - Rules Light Sci-Fi Action Roleplaying / $5.49: Publisher: Farsight Games

This is an adventure roleplaying game designed for quick one-shots of high action and fast combat. Players will take on the roles of Specialists in a Fireteam of the Interplanetary Combine, a government body in constant conflict with the universe.

Threats to the Combine come in all shapes and sizes; insurrection, terrorism, and strange, alien threats that the Combine struggle to deal with. On top of all this they are fighting an ongoing war with the Gene League Separatists, a huge collection of worlds that see the Combine as a threat to their ‘freedom’ and individuality, as well as seeing the rest of the non-augmented human race as inferior. They feel they are fighting a war for the purity of their genetically superior species and their independence, and worlds and star systems continually change hands with the borders shifting every few months. It’s becoming more than the Combine can handle.

If there’s a problem, and if every other route to a resolution has tried and failed, then it’s time to call a Fireteam.

Heirs to Heresy: The Fall of the Knights Templar: A Roleplaying Game / $24.50

Heirs to Heresy: The Fall of the Knights Templar: A Roleplaying Game / $24.50: Publisher: Osprey Publishing

You are one of the thirty Knights Templar who awoke on Friday, 13 October 1307, only to find themselves wanted criminals and branded heretics by the King of France. Abandoned by the Vatican and sent away early in the morning, you must leave Paris on a day of reckoning and try to find your way across a dark, mythic Europe to a mystical utopia where you can rebuild!
Heirs to Heresy starts as a historical-fantasy roleplaying game, but is heavily influenced by Gnosticism, European Folklore, esotericism, and the myths and legends that surround the Templars. The game will ask you to craft the secrets of the Templar treasure, the enemies, and mysteries they will face, as your Knights undertake a mystical journey to the center of themselves along the road to Avallonis.

The mechanics are a blend of narrative, storytelling rules, and classic adventure-gaming inspired roleplaying rules that work to create rich aspect-driven characters. As Templar Knights, your skill at arms is unquestionable, but it is the potential access to gnostic spells, unique powers, or intensely powerful faith sets you apart from your comrades.
Can you tap into your potential, guarding the mysterious Templar treasure on this last quest you will take for the order and find the answer to the burning question: are the Templars Heirs to Heresy?

The award-winning, Image comic book series and New York Times Best Seller is coming to a game table near you! Take a bite out of crime in this foodie, dark-comedy tabletop role-playing game about cops, crooks, cooks, cannibals, and clairvoyants in a clucked-up world.

We're building off the popular fiction-first game mechanics of Forged in the Dark to bring the action-packed comic series of food crimes, over-the-top characters, and out-of-this-world conspiracies to life.

Some pillars of play include...

  • Investigating intriguing cases.
  • Engaging with tense action sequences.
  • Participating in narrative-driven play phases.
  • Balancing your personal trouble with the needs of the case.
  • A narrative structure that pits players against nefarious villains, challenges them to solve outlandish cases, and reveals ever-expanding conspiracies

The World Has Changed

In a world where all poultry (I'm looking at you chicken) is illegal after a catastrophic outbreak of the bird flu killed over 100 million people, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is now the most powerful law enforcement agency on the planet. As a member of the Special Crimes Division, it’s your job to investigate food crimes from chicken trafficking and egg dealing, to fricken (chicken/frog hybrids) mutants gone wrong, and put food-powered criminals behind bars.

Food Powers

Yeah, that’s right! Food. Powered. Criminals. The world looks almost like our own except for the intrusion of food-powered mutations. No one knows when they appeared in human history, but some people just have them. Maybe you cook, eat, or draw food, but when YOU do, something supernatural happens. You have a unique experience with a particular food not many can relate with.

Maybe you...

are what you eat. (how is that even useful?)

carve weapons out of chocolate. (if only you could stop eating the ammo.)

or can see the past of anything you taste. (It's not pretty!)

It's zany, it's dark, it's a ton of fun in an absurd world!

Welcome to the CHEWniverse!

Maximum Recursion Depth, or Sometimes the Only Way to Win is to Stop Playing: The Karmapunk RPG / $15.00

Maximum Recursion Depth, or Sometimes the Only Way to Win is to Stop Playing: The Karmapunk RPG / $15.00: Publisher: Weird & Wonderful Worlds

Maximum Recursion Depth, or Sometimes the Only Way to Win is to Stop Playing: The Karmapunk RPG

Maximum Recursion Depth is a rules-light, OSR (old-school D&D) / Into the Odd-inspired game set in an alternate version of the modern world. It's a world inspired loosely by Buddhist and Taoist mythology and philosophy, weird urban magical realism like Vertigo Comics, Doom Patrol, and Persona, but also The Good Place and Bojack Horseman. It's a dark examination of the self and society, but equally full of camp and humor and absurdity.

In a world where the Monkey King overthrew Buddha, and the ineptness of his Celestial Bureaucracy has led to an increase in Rogue Poltergeists and the active participation of the Numberless Courts of Hell in the affairs of the material world, the players are Poltergeist Investigators, working to manage the affairs of the afterlife where the system has failed. They do so because they are Recursers, individuals capable of reincarnating between the material world and the Numberless Courts of Hell, empowered with Karmic abilities via their Poltergeist Forms.

Poltergeist Investigators acquire Karmic Attachments as they search for Rogue Poltergeists and infiltrate The Numberless Courts of Hell. While this Karma is what empowers their Poltergeist Forms, a Recurser who accrues too much Karma becomes an Ashura, a Karmic Devil. If one chooses to engage with the themes of this game, it is a game about navigating a dysfunctional world, of trying to better the world while recognizing one's own dysfunctions; where in failing to do so, reincarnation after reincarnation, one will eventually reach Maximum Recursion Depth.

Don't Split / $2.33

Don't Split / $2.33: Publisher: Evolving Dreams Productions

Don't Split is a standalone, dark fantasy roleplaying game using a variant build of our https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/372556/Evolving6-Eng?manufacturers_id=19453. While E6 has been specifically written for our DreamBook product line (check out https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/372552/XenoDreamers-DreamBook-1-ENG?manufacturers_id=19453, the 1st one!), in this case we rebuilt it to be a functional and funny engine to power this dark-toned game!

The CORE of Evolving6
Place a d6 near your play area on the 2. That's your Difficulty, for now. Whenever you take a risky action, you roll a d6 and if you beat or meat the Difficulty you did it! BUT, here's the deal: the dice' result will become your new Difficulty! So, let's say you rolled a superb 5 on your first roll: you will accomplish whatever result you wanted, but Now, the d6 will be placed alongside your sheet on the 5. The next roll won't be that easy anymore!

Furthermore, the Splitter will need to roll equal to or LOWER than your Difficulty

During the game, you'll have to manage points (see below) to survive or boost your abilities, so handle them with care!
The game is then packed up with conditions and optiponal rules but... That's the core!

WHAT'S DON'T SPLIT?
In Don't Split you create a Party, a Guild and a Town, cooperating to set up the right background for your stories! This is a fast and creative process requiring mere minutes, if you wish!

Then, the Splitter will create your first Quest and boom: you're ready to explore the world!
With a lightning fast and deadly resolution system (with a ton of built in modern mechanics) you will be able to face extraordinary adventures, go back to your hub, hire mercenaries, get some news around the Town and be ready for another Quest!

Full Page Alchemist

In Don't Split the Party is KEY: you are not handling a set of "hit points" per character, nor you'll have individual resources: items and class features aside, the whole group will share a number of power points, which represent a metacurrency to fuel class powers and to avoid defeat! So, you'll need to make careful choices: will you cast your powerful Elemental storm lowering the Party's chance of survival or will you play with cunning actions in order to save some points for the big boss?

WHAT'S IN THE BOOK?
This wonderfully illustraded 22 pages fully Bookmarked PDF include:

- Complete Rules

- Guidelines to cooperative Guild and Party creation

- Guidelines to introduce fantasy races

- 13 pre-made Classes for you to print out (like the Alchemist, Inquisitor and Druid!)

- Customised Class Creation

- Optional Rules and Variants

- Sample Town for a quickstart!

- Custom Alter Ego Sheet

- a Toolkit with magic items, dangers, quest generation, special abilities and conditions!

All of this in our tablet/phone friendly style, so you'll be able to play anywhere, anytime, anyhow!

Lawman: A Roleplaying Game About Interstellar Bounty Hunters And Shooting People For Money / $15.00

Lawman: A Roleplaying Game About Interstellar Bounty Hunters And Shooting People For Money / $15.00: Publisher: Critical Failure Game Studios

Lawman is a tabletop roleplaying game set in the far distant future year of AC 20406 (Nobody remembers what the AC stands for, nor does it really matter.) in the explored Galactic Core of Space.

Old Urf, as it was known, and its originating systems have been lost to time, and now, pretty much everybody carries on like it never really existed, nor does it really matter at this point.

The descendants of humanity as we once knew it rose to near-transcendent heights of success, achieving wonders and things that we couldn't even begin to theorize throughout our millennia of existence - only to get ridiculously bored with our god-slaying scientific endeavors, and eventually fall into the pratfalls of another pseudo-dark age. (Who knew?)

When science and nerdy stuff fails, people regress back to the simpler, primal behaviors, such as 'being dumb' and 'often doin' crimes.' Such as the situation 20 years ago, when the last vestiges of idyllic utopian living were completely steamrolled to the sound of uneducated slobs fucking up the works for the rest of society.

As the looting and bedlam rage on, the local police forces, wracked with their own corruption and/or hopelessly outnumbered and outgunned, are nearly powerless to affect the situation at large. Things are bad.

Fortunately, corporate interests have our back, once again, good common folk. The Sirius Hypercorporation has invested a good share of last year's profits into an excellent marketing and branding campaign and has created a freelance bounty hunter program called LAWMAN. (You've seen the commercials.

Willing to hire literally almost anybody off the streets (with a comprehensive background and psychological screening, of course) to be employed as a badge-toting, no-nonsense takin' son of a gun ready to operate as an independently liable, semi-competent, part-time crime enforcement officer.

Think of a (trademarked business of instant food delivery service) driver, except they've been given the authority to arrest perps.

When you're a LAWMAN, you get your own ship (registered privately under the company to you, Gud help you if you lose it.), your own team to work with, and an infinite list of baddies worth tracking down through all five sectors of the Galactic Core, each with a hefty price on their head for their malicious crimes.  Not to mention the requisite paperwork to cross interstellar lines and get away with nearly anything you need to do in order to capture your quarry and bring them back to a hoosegow.

Things are pretty good, as long as you maintain employment, that is.  Otherwise, that friendly crew of yours might stand to make a buck off you while you sleep. Or worse.

In short, Lawman exists to give players access to an easy to construct, overconfident badass with zero sense of impostor syndrome as you explore the cosmos, looking to break noses, bust kneecaps, crack ribs, fracture skulls, scream obscenities (and receive), and haul in riff-raff for the proverbial fat stack of cash-money that everybody needs for bills and luxuries and whatnot.

And if that doesn't happen, the worst thing that can happen is a multitude of grisly, grotesque, awful ways to get killed on the soil of backwater worlds or in the fringes of deep space.

---

Lawman was inspired by some of the following things, and if you also like these things, you'll probably enjoy this game:

  •  Cowboy Bebop. (because it's great without saying any more.)
  •  Trigun. (because it's great without saying any more. )
  •  Outlaw Star. (because it's great without saying any more. )
  •  Borderlands. (one at the time, although TWO really came and improved on it, and I'm not ready to talk about my feelings on three, yet.)
  •  Firefly. (because people still enjoy a single season of incomplete television twenty years later and for good reasons.)
  •  Robocop. (for ultraviolence and the seething 80s satire.)
  •  Judge Dredd. (Comics. and 2012. Same as above, and we're gonna ignore the Stallone movie for the most part.)
  •  Idiocracy. (yes, gets thrown around a lot, but it's probably the direction we're going as a society and a perfect representation of the humor. President Camacho is the perfect example of a Lawman character.)
  • and an old parody RPG that five of you may remember called HōL from Black Dog Games. (Mostly for the humor and style.)

Mission Driven Playtest / $0.00: Publisher: Kid Minotaur

Why another cyberpunk game? Unlike other cyberpunk games, Mission Driven takes place in the modern world, not the future. Nor is it based on an alternate history or a retro-futurist imagining of what people in the 1980s thought 2020 would look like. It’s based on our real world.

But isn’t the real world boring? No. The real world is full of violent uprisings, corrupt politicians, creepy cults, corporate conspiracies, and weird technologies. You can get a bitcoin wallet implanted in your hand. You can 3D print a gun. Drug dealers use drones to smuggle drugs into prisons. A washed-up game show host was elected President of the United States. The real world is cyberpunk as heck.

And let’s face it, roleplaying games are fiction. We’re not playing in the real world, but in dramatic interpretation of it. Think of television shows like Leverage and Scandal, or William Gibson’s “Blue Ant trilogy” for inspiration.

So what do we do in this game? Play video journalists exposing corporate malfeasance, startup employees trying to build alternatives to the status quo, modern-day Robin Hoods stealing from the rich to feed the poor, or something else entirely.

What Will I Find In this Document? The basic principles and rules, explanations of the Playbooks and Crewbooks.

For the playtest version, I’m going to assume that you know how to play roleplaying games in general and are familiar with “Powered by the Apocalypse” games like Apocalypse WorldDungeon World, and Monster of the Week.

Oniroverse - Rule Book EN / $13.00

Oniroverse - Rule Book EN / $13.00: Publisher: Oniroverse - Arthur

Oniroverse is an original and completely independent heroic fantasy Role Playing Game.

Play characters built with 12 races, 30 cultures and 58 classes, with more than 500 Techniques & Spells to learn and combine freely in order to satisfy simple and straightforward playstyles, just as much as those who prefer optimizing or experimentation.

On two continents imbued with magic and covered with empires, kingdoms, city-states, barbarian tribes and nomadic clans, you'll be able to go on classic adventures of fantastical-monster-slaying, or end up trapped in the web of rich and ready-to-burst geopolitics.

Mechanically, you'll create your characters by defining their backgrounds, personnality traits and preferences, and will use a unique d10 system offering more mastery and shielding you more and more from pure random. Many features are turned towards Role-play, but you'll also have plenty for epic encounters, especially through a fairly freeform magic system.

Oniroverse is a completely independent project, with little money but loads of passion, and a burning desire to create a rich and unique RPG! While it's my first auto-published project, it certainly isn't the last...

Your bag is packed with holy scripts, hallowed relics and, though you pray you will not need it, a heavy old pistol loaded with just two bullets. You are here to pit your very souls against this thing. Your lives are already forfeit.

You are an Old Priest & a Young Priest and tonight... you will perform an exorcism.

Helvéczia: Picaresque RPG / $20.00

Helvéczia: Picaresque RPG / $20.00: Publisher: First Hungarian d20 Society

“Venture into a rugged land of stamp-sized, steadfastly independent petty states, populated with robber bands, pious clergymen, wig-wearing philistines, adventurous countesses, and wily cheats: the cantons of Helvéczia, a territory of forbidding mountain ranges and endless forests betwixt rival empires. (…) A re-imagination of old-school fantasy role-playing in a late 17th century Switzerland that never was, Helvéczia is a fast-paced and colourful game of guns, dames, deviltry and steel, based on swashbuckling tales, penny dreadfuls, local legends, and the strange stories of the Brothers Grimm.”

A complete, new old-school game system for picaresque fantasy role-playing campaigns set in a strange alternate-world Switzerland where danger lurks in the deep forests, and even weirder things are afoot in the high mountain valleys. Helvéczia is :lang="en-gb">a love letter to the penny dreadfuls and cheap picaresque novels describing the lives and changing fortunes of scoundrels, bravos and never-do-wells – adventurers in the truest sense. With cover art by Peter Mullen, players’ cartography by Sean Stone, and illustrations by the old masters. This version contains:

  • A 208-page rulebook including character creation, simple yet flexible rules, spells, monsters, magic items (mostly new), GM advice, random tables, a starting adventure, and a brief setting guide.:lang="en-gb"> The rules are intended to be easy to learn, and the book can be picked up by beginners rather quickly. Going beyond a simple rules variant, Helvéczia comes with detailed explanatory notes for players, and an in-depth guide for Gamemasters.
  • An A3 overview map by Sean Stone, providing an overview of Helvéczia’s geography on one side, and its main cantons, towns and territories on the other.
  • Eight more player and GM hex maps for the entire extent of Helvéczia, and some of the surrounding territories (two of each map included to last multiple campaigns)
  • A deck of 32 cards in case you want to play a hand with the devil – according to Hungarian card sharp traditions (these are digital images of an antique, out-of-print edition, different from the version included in the print version).
  • Character sheets, sample characters, reference sheets, and a calendar booklet to keep strict time records with for a meaningful campaign.

In Helvéczia, you can…

  • get surrounded by a band of brigands, shoot your way out, and make your getaway on one of their horses…
  • seduce an adventurous countess, and lose all your money to her in a game of cards (how did she do it?!)…
  • get devoured by giant frogs lurking in an abandoned well…
  • blow up the Devil’s stagecoach and live to tell the tale…
  • die in an unlucky first aid attempt (many such cases!)…
  • hunt wolves from horseback with grenades…
  • learn useless sciences like Hermeneutics and Vacuum Theory, then find them surprisingly useful…
  • get captured by the Inquisition, and escape from their clutches with the aid of a Holy Bible they gave you for your final night…
  • team up with the Inquisition against a blasphemous nest of fishmen…
  • dig up the fingerbones of a hanged man for the Skeleton Key spell, and procure a tanned dogskin for Emilio Sciarelli’s Spectacle…
  • play cards with the Devil for your immortal soul!

All of these, and more have happened in Helvéczia games (although some took place in the land of Catalonia, for you can play the game in other pseudo-historical milieus with a little effort).

This electronic edition is provided free of charge to people who have purchased the print version.
