QUEST [Free]

QUEST [Free]:

ZV7YGQ.jpg

QUEST is a map-drawing RPG, based on the incredible DELVE by Anna Blackwell,
about exploring and re-discovering a ruined keep above and vast underground dungeon beneath it. You take control a party of adventurers exploring this abandoned keep, for fame, fortune, and a chance to discover the legendary Void Crystal.

QUEST is intended to focus on telling the story of a group of adventurers and the ruined keep they are exploring. Whenever the Party kicks open the next door, you’ll use a standard deck of cards to randomly determine what is found. Maybe ruined structures, and the treasures they hold, or lakes of lava, or nightmarish horrors more ancient than the keep. Once you find out what you’ve discovered, you'll draw it on your map as a record of your exploration, and write about it in an ongoing journal.

While QUEST is primarily designed to be a single-player experience like DELVE, there's no reason it can't be played with multiple players as well. The deck and map could pass from player to player, or each task: drawing cards, chronicling the adventure, and illustrating the map, could be done by different players.

This game can be played even without DELVE: A Solo Map Drawing Game. Huge thanks to Anna Blackwell for creating DELVE in the first place, and for creating an SRD and a game jam so that I can write create spin-offs for it.

CRYSTALLINE [$10.00]

CRYSTALLINE [$10.00]:
A Tale of Souls & Stones, Illuminated by LUMEN

Powered by the exciting LUMEN engine, this game brings you into a world ravaged by Calamity. One which only you and yours have the clarity of vision to save. You are Heritors, the bearers of Soul Stones- mnemocite gems which record the deeds and powers of the great heroes who once bore them. If you want to make sure that yours isn't the last generation of this faltering world, you'll have to embark on adventures to topple the Empire, face the Shadows, and extinguish the fires of war which threaten to burn all to ash.

Features

The LUMEN engine uses pools of d6s for action resolution with success thresholds based on the highest rolled result. Each character has a unique class (in CRYSTALLINE, a soul stone) which grants them abilities they can use in battle.

Combat is a rocket-propelled action scene in which the characters tear down waves of foes and match their powerful abilities against staggering boss monsters.

CRYSTALLINE currently features 15 soul stones to choose from with both unique and some shared abilities. It also has a Skillchain system for stringing together elementally-powered combo attacks with your allies to unleash powerful Skillchain Trigger effects.

This text has everything you'll need to get started on your adventures, including 20 example enemies, bosses, adventure design and treasure rules, and the basic systems required to run the game.

Explicit Acknowledgments

This game is a LUMEN exploration of a world and setting inspired by Final Fantasy XIV and other aetherological fantasy stories. If you've been looking for a way to bring FFXIV cutscenes and boss battles to life at your table, look no further! This is by no means an official product, and uses none of SE's trademarked material. It's a love letter to Hydaelyn, Eorzea, and the adventures of the Warrior of Light.

Content Patches

This game will be entering itchfunding soon (once I figure out how to configure the goal), to pay for art commissions from several FFXIV fan artists. My goal is to create a gorgeous final product and then fund a physical print run.

Additionally, there will be occasional content patches including new classes (you might notice a couple of conspicuous absences...), new foes, adventures, and Raid encounters. Please look forward to it!

The League of Seekers -5th edition Gothic Horror / $9.99: Publisher: FeralGamersInc

As you step from the carriage, the sound of your feet striking the cobbles echoes down the dark empty street.

“It’s going to be a cursed moon tonight”. The carriage driver claims, and you follow his gaze to the red-ringed moon hanging above the rooftops. “Be careful”. He continues.

As if on cue, a blood-wrenching howl fills the night. The hairs on the back of your neck rise, and the shadows seem to grow longer. You pull up your collar, grab your musket from the carriage and head into the darkness.

You are a seeker. And It’s time to hunt.

The League of Seekers is a roleplaying game that combines Lovecraftian terror with folklore to create an alternate 18th century Europe living under the fear of the blood curse. A plague that turns ordinary people into monsters.

Events over the last 1000 yrs. have unlocked the spheres that hold the gates closed to cosmic horrors and dark gods, which in turn has led to cults and secret societies spreading across the known world.

The League of Seekers RPG introduces you to a world of dark horror, where players can make human or Vampire characters trained to fight the darkness and horror that now inflicts Europe.

The League of Seekers uses the 5th edition OGL with more skills, new features, new magic systems covering Summoning, Ritual and Arcane magic. Madness and the cycles of the moon.

The game covers the cities of London and Paris and their quarantine zones.

Goblins Grabbed My Dice! / $3.99

Goblins Grabbed My Dice! / $3.99: Publisher: Matt Stormcrow

Goblins Grabbed My Dice - Title

Peeplin' HARD! Dice GOOD!

Three goblins climbing on each other to get diceGoblins Grabbed My Dice is a game where you play a team(?) of goblins that have snuck into a gaming convention somewhere in Middle America. Your goal is to steal the most precious jewel among goblinkind. Mathy rocks. Clickity clacks. Dice.

It is a fun one-shot game of zany hijinks, cartoon mischief, and chaotic silly gobbos. It's about stuffing three goblins in a trenchcoat, running away from convention security, and getting into goofy trouble.

Recommended for 3-6 players, including the Gobmaster. Suitable for all ages.

FAQing Gobbos

Let’s get some questions out of the way first.

So, is this some kind of fantasy universe?

Nope, it’s a present-day Middle America city hosting a gaming convention. It’s our world. It won’t matter much. You won’t be leaving the sprawling convention center.

So, where do the goblins come from?

The Goblin Place.

But there aren’t goblins in our world.

You must not go to the same gaming cons that I do.

I’ve never seen any there.

Listen, you decided to read about this game, not me. You are playing goblins. They have big ears, big fangy mouths, and can maybe reach a grown man’s belt if they stand on their tippy toes. You are at a gaming convention in modern day America. You want to steal dice. That’s the premise, are you down to play?

Fine, fine. What do I need to play?

  • Some paper for character sheets.

  • Something to write with, preferably non-toxic crayons.

  • One poor sod - errr - one valiant soul to gamemaster. Or in this case, gobmaster.

  • A pile of d6s.

If the words “character sheet”, “gamemaster” or “d6” don’t mean anything to you, I’m flattered that this is your first RPG you’ve decided to try. But find someone in a t-shirt with a 20-sided polyhedron hidden cleverly in the design and ask them. Or tweet @matthewmercer; I’m sure he’s not busy.

A mild dose of goofiness, a taste for cartoonish shenanigans, and a sarcastic understanding of geek culture is recommended but not required.

Coffee Shop Screenwriter - Sitcom / $10.00

Coffee Shop Screenwriter - Sitcom / $10.00: Publisher: Long Games

Coffee Shop Screenwriter - Sitcom

SCREENWRITING GAMIFIED

Coffee Shop Screenwriter - Sitcom is a story-telling role-playing game for one or more players. Each player takes the role of the screenwriter as they’re frantically trying to write an original sitcom script whilst sitting in a coffee shop.

By the end of the game, you will have come up with an idea for a screenplay, whilst also developing the character of your screenwriter and discovering more about the coffee shop you’re writing from.

Coffee Shop Screenwriter - Sitcom is a great group game but can also be played solo. An average game will last between one and two hours.

The Screenplay Beats your character is following are also used by professional sitcom writers, so if you are feeling really adventurous you could use this game to actually write an actual episode of a sitcom.

9krFLp.jpg

Overview

You are an unsuccessful sitcom writer who needs to send your latest episode to your agent by the end of the day. Unfortunately you haven’t written it yet and you didn’t sleep last night so, in a desperate final attempt, you go to your favourite coffee shop to write, in the hope that caffeine will make you more creative.

l6DAKG.jpg

Caffeine

Your writing ability is directly affected by the level of caffeine in your system. When you’re full of caffeine you’re able to come up with original ideas and draw on your life experience in creative ways but when you’re running low on caffeine you resort to stealing ideas from other movies you’ve seen or you even just look around the coffee shop and draw ideas from what you can see around you.

You'll use one die to keep track of how much money you have and one die to keep track of your Caffeine Level. Your Caffeine Level goes down each turn but you're also able to buy coffee to increase your Caffeine Level.

The number on the caffeine die affects where you can draw inspiration from:

7iQr2V.jpg

Original Idea:

You’re on top of your game and can literally come up with anything you put your mind to. Draw a little lightning bolt next to your original idea on the Screenplay sheet to remind you of the time that you were struck by a bolt of true inspiration. You’re a genius!

 Life Experience:

You use an element of your real life as a source of inspiration. It can be something from your current life, a past experience (maybe something that happened last night), or a hope for the future. Add the real life experience to your Character Sheet. You’re a sensitive poet.

 A Sitcom:

You take another sitcom as inspiration and change it just a little bit so that your agent won’t recognise it. Add the title of the sitcom to your Sitcom List. If it’s more similar to one of the sitcoms your screenwriter loves draw a heart next to it. If it’s more similar to one of the sitcoms your screenwriter hates draw an X next to it. You could also use a sitcom that’s already on the list as inspiration, if you do then draw a heart next to it. This serves as a reminder of your influences at the end of the game. You’re a hack.

 The Coffee Shop

You’re tired as can be and can only muster up enough energy to look around you. What or who do you see in the coffee shop? Maybe it’s a couple having a conversation. Maybe it’s art on the wall. Maybe it’s a dog quietly peeing in the corner. Maybe it’s something you see happening outside the window. Use what you see as your inspiration and then write or draw it on the Coffee Shop Sheet. If you’re using something that’s already there as inspiration then draw a heart next to it to show that it’s been used more than once. You’re too tired and need more coffee.

Scorched - An Apocalyptic Science Fiction Roleplaying Game / $9.99

Scorched - An Apocalyptic Science Fiction Roleplaying Game / $9.99: Publisher: Bloat Games

Bloat Games is excited to announce SCORCHED.

This game is based on the simple concept, "What if Luke never left Tatooine?"

It's definitely heavily Star Wars inspired with a side of Mad Max thrown in for good measure. And did we mention, it has Power Armors?

Scorched is a full stand-alone TTRPG, clocking in at 223 pages, but is also fully compatible with The Blackest Space and can be used as a supplement to that game, also.

Scorched is a game that utilizes the BoD game system created by Eric Bloat for The Blackest of Deaths RPG.

The BoD game system is based on the d20 OGL with updates and alternate rules, most-notably the Core Mechanic:  Roll 1d20 & 1d6 Simultaneously

When you attack, make a save, make a skill, etc. roll a d20 and a d6 and add any applicable modifiers to the d20 roll.

If you meet, or beat, the target Difficulty Check or Evade score you succeed.

On the d6, do not add modifiers unless specifically instructed and ignore a roll of 2, 3, 4 or 5. For a roll of 1 add a Hindrance and for a roll of 6 add a Benefit.

Hindrance

Hindrance adds an additional challenge or difficulty that was not present before the attempt.

Example: A Security Officer is successful with their laser attack; however, the laser gun has jammed and it costs the Officer their next attack to fix it.

Benefit

Benefit adds an additional convenience that was not present before the attempt.

Example: An attacker using their laser gun misses the mark; however, as the opponent attempts to dodge the attack, they hit their head on a doorway.
