To be Wicked is to be sinful, deviant, desirous, fierce. It is disruptive. It is necessary.
To be Divine is to be rapturous, inhuman, more symbol than life. It is perfection. It is necessary.
To be both? That is something else entirely.
Mothering Invention is a game about people who think they are gods, or maybe gods that think they are people. Either way, they're disaster-people with a lot of ideas about culture, romance, and the end of the world.
This game owes an obvious and massive debt to the excellent The Wicked + The Divine, by Kieron Gillen and Jamie Mckelvie. It's more than just a tribute act, though - it has a unique system for embodying deities, an elegant system for tracking and exploring social currency, and a general design that emphasises relationships and lets you explore the relationships between people and ideas.
It's also based on the wonderful Lasers and Feelings, a truly spectacular system that has inspired some equally spectacular hacks - do check some of them out if you can!
