The Novice once lived a peaceful life, before they were thrown into danger and forced to defend their home and loved ones. The Master is no stranger to battle, but had hoped long ago they had seen their last. Alone, neither can hope to win against the formidable Enemy waiting in the wings.

Fight Bears, Cough Blood, Kill God is a training montage tabletop roleplaying game for 2 players: one to act as Master and one as Novice.

Equipment

You will need 11x6-sided dice and a deck of standard playing cards with the jokers removed. If you do not have physical versions, you can use online tools such as https://www.random.org/

Content and Safety

This game takes inspiration from fighting anime such as Dragon Ball Z, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Bleach and Demon Slayer. Expect violence and potentially character death, though most prompts are left open to interpretation, such that players can decide how dark they want the game to be. Note that this game involves exploration of an uneven power dynamic: it is important to discuss boundaries in advance and to break out of character as necessary so that both players enjoy the experience.
