The Landshut Rules are my attempt to emulate roleplaying games of the earliest days of our hobby – before Gary Gygax published his game. The Landshut Rules try to capture the free-wheeling, everything-goes spirit of the Twin City gamers, back in the days when the lines between miniatures games, roleplaying games and war games were very blurry or better, non-existent.
I gave the rules a name that tells others where they originated from: Landshut, the Lower Bavarian town I was born in. The Twin Cities had and still have their Twin Cities gamers and several variants of Twin City rules, and now Landshut has its Landshut rules, and I think it's fitting.
