You are responsible for the well-being of your land, and your people depend on you. The world is falling apart around you; crisis after crisis, disaster after disaster threatens to tear society apart. Much like the historic bronze age collapse, society faces the potential for a dark age. You must make use of your land’s unique qualities to see it through each crisis, but beware: you will not be able to weather this storm on your own. You must rely on your friend in another land for help, as you both face an increasingly difficult world. Unfortunately, they’re a great distance from you in both space and language, so you may struggle to communicate over your sparse messages.
Each round, you and your partner in play will face challenges. You may use one of your land’s traits to overcome the challenge. You can also choose to ask your partner for help, allowing them to spend one of their traits to help you overcome, and they may ask you to do the same. All communication with your partner must be done by writing a letter, metaphorically or literally. However, the language you are permitted to use in the letter is restricted, and you must be creative in order to get your point across. You succeed if both players are still playing after fifteen rounds.
