My Indie GotY has got to be I'm sorry did you say street magic by Caro Asercion. If Microscope is epic political history (and can feel a bit bloodless and detached for it), street magic has all the fascinating overlooked stuff: Mentalities, ritual, materiality, urban space. If you're at all interested in cities (in ttrpgs and beyond), you should play it.
