The idea of Gebhack was to re-write the rules of familiar old-school systems, trimming all the fat and turning tables into easily-remembered formulas, making the game so lightweight that it can be read and understood within just a few minutes.
The system is really a framework which allows GMs and creators to add their own houserules and content onto, is easy for new players to understand, can be easily adapted and houseruled on the fly, but it also contains some completely original rules that can be ported onto any game with ease.
Read it through, print a few copies ... then throw them away because you remember all the rules already!
