We also hit our stretch goal, which means Marx is going to edit Anamnesis! I'm so grateful to all of you who made this possible. I can't wait for us to make Anamnesis the best that it can be.

What is Anamnesis?
Anamnesis is a solo journaling RPG about self-discovery, reflection, and identity. You play as an individual who has woken up with memory loss. You do not remember who you are, where you are, or what you care about. As you draw tarot cards, you fill the blank spaces of your past and learn more about your present.
Inspirations include The Wretched by Chris Bissette and The Portal at Hill House by Travis Hill and Lindi Farris-Hill.
All that is needed to play is a deck of tarot cards and a journaling method. The game is 10 pages long.
This is the beta version of the game. The text is complete, but I'm raising funds to hire a layout artist. If the crowdfunding is successful, everyone who purchased the beta version will receive the updated version for free.
When the crowdfunding ends (successful or not) I will also add 1 community copy for every person who bought the beta.

"Itchfunding" is an alternate method of crowdfunding using itch.io. I've chosen to Itchfund Anamnesis for a few reasons:
- Unlike Kickstarter, the funds raised still reach the hands of the creator even if the funding goal is not met. This means that if we almost (but not quite) reach the goal, I may still be able to hire a layout artist with very few out-of-pocket expenses.
- The game text is complete and Itchfunding allows me to get it into people's hands faster.
- Itchfunding is less complicated than Kickstarter and more accessible for a new creator (like myself).
- The indie TTRPG community is striving to be less reliant on Kickstarter. Creating and supporting Itchfunding projects helps diversify our crowdfunding methods.
The Itchfunding goal is $150. If these funds are raised, I will be hiring Thomas Manuel to update the layout of the game.
Thomas Manuel (he/him) is a journalist and game designer. He writes about games on his weekly Indie RPG Newsletter at http://ttrpg.substack.com and publishes them at http://notrueindian.itch.io. He has freelanced for New Agenda Publishing, Rowan Rook and Decard, and Kobold Press among others.
Thomas is also Itchfunding his own game, HyperCity, a "Solo, Together" cyberpunk hack of Ironsword.

Marx Shepherd (they/them) is a tabletop roleplaying game designer, editor and project lead, as a freelancer and for the San Jenaro CoOp. They also host Yes Indie'd Pod, an indie TTRPG interview show, and organise the in*die zine. They're unashamedly narrativist and believe strongly in games that tell stories about real societies and people.
