Black powder changed the scope of warfare, and therefore wider society, beyond recognition. Now mankind found new ways to conquer eachother. Ship production was increased and varying powers took to the high seas, secure in the knowledge their superior technology would allow them to subdue those who they encountered.
From the earliest cannons and arquebusiers, to musketeers, revolutionaries, pirates and organised columns of soldiers, the art of shooting and fencing (refined swordplay) played a prominent role in the life of those seeking their fortune. Since the time of humanity’s Dark Age, there were those who sought to find their place in an ever-changing world.
