If you wake at midnight, and hear a horse's feet,
Don't go drawing back the blind, or looking in the street,
Them that ask no questions isn't told a lie.
Watch the wall my darling while the Gentlemen go by.
- A Smuggler's Song, Rudyard Kipling
In this ONE-PAGE RPG, your party plays a crew of smugglers, and each character has a secret.
In the 18th century in England, high import taxes meant smuggling was rampant on a variety of things like brandy, tea and salt. Fieldhands earned more in a night's work for the “free traders” than they did in a month in the fields. Is it any wonder that the party has turned to smuggling?
There's a tunnel that goes from the smuggler's hidden landing point on the coastline to an alternate location. Dangers like the revenue men and other smugglers lurk around every corner. Will your crew get their cargo safely through?
Five and twenty ponies,
Trotting through the dark -
Brandy for the Parson, 'Baccy for the Clerk.
Laces for a lady; letters for a spy,
Watch the wall my darling while the Gentlemen go by!
