Leap Engine (LE) is a set of core rules for playing a role-playing game with your friends. The rules are light and concise, built around a simple d10 escalation mechanic that allows players to decide which tasks are meaningful enough to take a risk trying to achieve them. The rules leave little for players to arbitrate during play, but are still flexible enough to allow for complex characters, actions, and situations. Story, theme, and flavor are yours to create, while the engine provides you with the means to do so. The game works best when played in a semi-realistic setting where magic is not abundant. Characters are heroes, but still vulnerable and fragile, invested in the world they occupy.
