Throughout the game, you will get to play as both the devil, a clever and sinister manipulator, and the mortals caught up in the devil's dangerous game.

- Setting agnostic: The Deal is setting agnostic, so you can play it in any setting you want to. You could play as nobility in 18th century France, as outer space travelers, or as the characters of your favorite movie.
- GMless: All players get to play the antagonist for a time, and narrative responsibility is shared between everyone.
