The Relic is a solo role-playing game in which the player takes on the perspective of a sacred object once belonging to a Saint.
What you’ll need:
- An hour or two set aside to play
- A copy of these rules
- A copy of the Relic playbook
- Paper and pencil
- A timer or other way to track time
This game is based on the Lost & Found game system, designed by Jack Harrison. The Relic was written for the Lost & Found Jam.
Do I need to be a Christian to play this game?
Not at all! While The Relic was designed with Catholic saints in mind it can be easily adapted to other faiths or even to a secular framework. In these cases, replace the saint with an important historical figure who continues to inspire people today. The relic itself becomes an important object associated with the figure (e.g., Albert Einstein’s slide rule or a leaf from the Buddha’s Bodhi tree) that has been preserved and passed on.
