SECRET INGREDIENT is a SLOW BURN© one-shot role-playing game.
A SLOW BURN© game is designed to maximize mystery and discovery. The players go into the game blind, completely oblivious as to the nature of the setting, the plot, the rules—even their own characters. It’s the role-playing game equivalent of having amnesia and then getting grabbed off the street, thrown into an unmarked van, and having a hood pulled over your head. The players don’t know what’s going on until the metaphorical hood is ripped off their heads when the game begins. From that moment on, they slowly but surely find out about the world, their predicament, and themselves.
This game/one-shot TTRPG was created for the First Three Words Jam. Designers were challenged to create a game based on the first three words that they found in a word search.
I ended up with "hand," "laboratory," and "food." SECRET INGREDIENT was the result.
