Isotope [Free]

Isotope [Free]:

Isotope is a four-page mini-RPG about humans, mutants, strange animals, and techie trolls surviving in a post-apocalyptic future. It's my old-school homage to Gamma World, Metamorphosis Alpha, Mutant Future, and Encounter Critical.

The game includes four classes, monsters, equipment, mutations, and a map of an abandoned missile silo ruled by a rampant AI. Have fun!

Blacktop Autoduel RPG (beta) [Free]

Blacktop Autoduel RPG (beta) [Free]:

VZD407.png
<<In the days before, the people had leaders who were clever and wise. But the people were factious, selfish, and stupid. So the leaders bound the people together in every way they could—bonds of law and custom, commerce and friendship, power and words, and the blacktop connecting them all. But lesser leaders came who were not as wise. One by one they weakened those bonds until the world fell and all bonds were undone—all except the blacktop.>>

Blacktop is a retro-clone car warrior RPG powered by the apocalypse. In Blacktop, heroes, survivors, scavengers, and adventurers drive heavily armed battle cars in a post-apocalyptic world.

Blacktop includes vehicle combat rules that allow you to use miniatures or the theatre of the mind. You can use these rules with any car combat miniatures game, such as Car Wars or Gaslands.

This game is a work in progress. I'd love to hear your comments and feedback.

QUIETUS [$10.00]

QUIETUS [$10.00]:

IT’S 3 AM. THERE’S SOMEONE IN YOUR HOUSE. THEY’RE GOING TO KILL YOU.

QUIETUS is a one shot, prepless RPG of melancholy horror. It’s a game for a GM and one or two players, and emulates tragic horror movies like Oculus, The Strangers, The Babadook, Inside and the Netflix version of The Haunting of Hill House. If a piece of fiction can make you cry and scream, then it’s a great model for the sort of stories that you can tell with QUIETUS.

Powered by a stripped down version of the award-winning Blades in the Dark engine, you’ll create characters with tragic backstories, and send them hurtling headlong into a nightmare where their past trauma might be the only thing that saves them.

The Waters of Lethe [Free]

The Waters of Lethe [Free]:

S%2F0zCh.png

The Waters of Lethe is a roleplaying microgame about people surviving the invasion of the Shadows, memory eating entities. The game uses only up to three six-sided dice, and its rules fit on a single page. During play, characters will be forced to overcome obstacles and gradually lose their memories and personality.

Three traits describe your character: a noun, an adjective and a verb, and you always succeed in your actions... but probably not as you expected. When doing something risky or uncertain, ask the other players what they think could go wrong. The Game Master will then choose a number of those things and stablish them as threats.

You then roll as many dice as traits of your character can reasonably help you do that thing, and assign one of those dice to each threat you're trying to avoid. The numbers assigned determine granularly how well you avoid each threat, being 6 a total avoidance 1 a compelte failure. Any threat without dice will default to a failure.

You can also push yourself to gain an extra die before you roll. But if you do, then you add the value of the lowest assigned die to your oblivion track. When you fill your oblivion track, you permanently lose one of your aspects. When you lose your last trait, your character is removed from the game, unable to fight for her life anymore.

Stardrawn [$6.00]

Stardrawn [$6.00]:

WExDvS.jpg
You look to the stars, to space, to the vast black that is so alive and on fire and not empty at all, because each brightling flame in the sky is still there, still full of life, the planets breathing in their tidal, ancestral orbits of systems and species. You look to the stars, Pilot, fighter, ‘riser, air-breather, light-seer, you who feel warmth and cold and loss and love, and you cry for them.

A storygame about a galaxy at the end of the war using Tarot cards to build plot, characters, relationships, and interactions.

This is a GM-less game for 1-4 players. You will create characters, bonds, stories, hopes, dreams, and even futures together, using Tarot cards and spreads to explore the galaxy. This is a game about a struggle past and a struggle present, but, as in many stories, there is always hope.

Characters will trade the Oculus as they play, allowing them to story build together, but also allow each player to narrate the story. There will be collaboration with the cards, with time allowed for revisions and suggestions of interpretations.

This game is best played in-person, with a communal tarot deck, and a common reference, which can be used or ignored as desired.

Stardrawn Quick Guide

  • Read through the rules to get an understanding of the piece
  • Read out loud the Scene Setting
  • Use the first Galaxy pull to understand the nature of the Final Battle and its effect on those remaining
  • Create your characters
  • Create the celebration; the lowest-ranking character goes first and becomes the first Oculus
  • Play proceeds to the left.
  • Using the Galaxy Card and the Past, determine the next spread you create
  • The Oculus interprets the spread
  • The Ascendancy offers Revisions
  • The Oculus Reinterprets, finalizes the story, and releases the Oculus
  • The Oculus moves to the left, and a new Galaxy Card is drawn
  • Continue until there are only enough cards for the Final Spread.
  • Play the Final Spread

Our Pantheon [Free]

Our Pantheon [Free]:

ev8xH3.png
Have you ever wondered what it would be like for a to play as group of deities creating a world from nothing?

In Our Pantheon you do just that. Shape the earth, breathe life from dust, meddle in the affairs of mortals. These are a few of the things you can do in Our Pantheon.

This a hack of a free TTRPG from 2005 called Dawn of Worlds. Just like that game, Our Pantheon is completely free! (Though tips are appreciated.)

In this game 2 to 6 players will draw a world map and spend points on powerful actions to create entire civilizations, histories, and worlds. This game takes additional inspiration from games like Microscope and PbtA. If you're looking for something to create a fantasy world to use for a campaign in another system, then Our Pantheon is the game the job.

QUEER HEIST CREW: MULTIVERSE MASHUP [$2.00]

QUEER HEIST CREW: MULTIVERSE MASHUP [$2.00]:

You are a crew of skilled (or not-skilled, I don't know you) operators, assembled from across the multiverse. Some of you might even be alternate versions of the same person, that'd be pretty cool. Maybe y'all will make out or something, if you're into that. But the key thing is that there's a MacGuffin out there, and you're here to steal it.

Oh yeah. Important note I should mention. You're all queer as hell.

Chitter! [Free]

Chitter! [Free]:

Squirrels are everywhere! In your neighborhoods, forests, and outside your businesses. In this game, you’ll be taking the role of one of the many squirrels that make up the local squirrel community. The system is rules light to allow the DM and players to experiment with what they think the challenges of being a squirrel in their community would entail. The main resource and reason for everyone to do things is food. Food is consumed at the end of each day in game time and food is used as a way to perform difficult tasks. The difficulty of the action corresponds to the amount of food used. Players are encouraged to share their food with each other and with their community to help it succeed. Be careful though, as sometimes the road to having enough food is fraught with peril and danger.

Will you be able to stockpile enough before Winter and help your community thrive?

You Know Me Still [Free]

You Know Me Still [Free]:

The two of you were friends, once. You loved each other, once. But that was another time—now, you find yourselves on opposite sides of a conflict, an epic war between good and evil. Still there’s some part of you that’s never stopped holding out hope your old friend can be made to see the error of their ways.

You Know Me Still is a Descended From the Queen tabletop roleplaying game for two players, played with a standard deck of playing cards. In it, players collaboratively tell a story about this pair of characters, their past, their present, and the conflict they’re embroiled in, and ultimately answer the question: when push comes to shove, do they choose one another, or do they stay true to the beliefs that drove them apart?

Bound [$5.00]

Bound [$5.00]:

Bound is a storytelling tabletop role-playing game for a GM plus 3-6 players, using only one or two standard decks of playing cards.

Players play a group of characters - knitted together by friendship, resentment, duty and more - who must struggle to survive in the face of a curse that will claim at least one of their lives by the end of the game.

The pack comes with three settings - classic fantasy, sci-fi and western - but can be easily adapted to more.

There is also a free preview pdf available, which includes 5 pages from the full game pack to give a taster of rules, tone and one of the settings.

An early, playtest version of Bound was published in Apr 2019 as part of the folklore game jam - this is a reworking of that game, which has similar themes and ideas but drastically different structure and mechanics.

Bloodspell [$4.00]

Bloodspell [$4.00]:

%2F2QHTR.png
This is a book about role-playing: about pretending to be vampires, and telling the stories of their lives.

It's based on Wolfspell, by Epidiah Ravachol, which you can find in Volume 1 Issue 2 of Worlds Without Master.

It's inspired by Interview With The Vampire, by Only Lovers Left Alive, Let The Right One In, Byzantium, Carmilla; hell, by What We Do In The Shadows.

It’s about finding out what you want to do with forever, and who you want to spend it with, and how you live with yourself for all that time.

It’s built for freeform role-playing - face to face, but also on forums, text chat, blogging platforms and that sort of thing.

It’s designed to tell short stories with scenes which are pacy and powerful and directed toward an ending, to get you playing with that vampire character you made up but never seem to do anything with.

And if you want to bolt it onto a bigger role-playing game and use it as a guide or prompt tool, that should work just fine.

Define: Home [$2.00]

Define: Home [$2.00]:

Define: Home is a single-player roleplaying game about exploring your connection to a planet and a home that you have never known.

Define: Home is about being a passenger on a generation ship, far from Earth. A generation ship is a type of long-distance space travel vessel that can take centuries or even millennia to reach its destination, during which time its passengers live, create future generations of descendants, and eventually die, in a cycle that can recur many times.

In this game, you will be playing the role of a passenger in a middle generation - you are not the ones who left Earth, and your grandparents and great-grandparents likely weren’t the ones who left either.
