Dhextiny uses a variable success and failure mechanism that provides varied results and outcomes in game actions, as opposed to the usual binary result systems seen in most tabletop role-playing systems.
To determine results in the game, a combination of a shared hexagonal board, called the Dhextiny, is used together with a single six-sided die.
There’s a Dhextiny board included at the end of this document that can be printed for your use. However, if you cannot print the board, you can easily create one from a simple piece of paper and pencil, following its very basic design. You will also need a single token to keep track of where you are in terms of results on the Dhextiny board; again, for this you can use anything like another die, a coin, or even a simple cut-out piece of paper.
This has been designed as a generic system. As such, feel free to build upon it and create your own settings, worlds, and expansions over these basic rules.
