A game of soul reapers, sorcerers, and sword fighting beyond the weak grip of mortality. Your characters are blade-slinging, blast-firing, transforming superpowered martial artists. You reap Lost Souls to prevent their transformation into chaotic monsters of the Yawning Maw. You challenge the immortal law of the Spiritfolk. You fight against the plots and plans of god-like Afterworld bureaucrats.
FLASHSTEP introduces a number of new concepts and systems to BOLT, inspired by action anime about worlds beyond mortality. A revamped Vitality/Wounds system puts the player in control of their Vitality to better resist their enemies' attacks. New Ritual Magic system allows for idiosyncratic sacrifice-powered rituals which work through the wills of a number of different otherworldly forces. Combat is more lethal and varied than ever with player-built special abilities ranging from attacks and spells to new Revelacioj abilities that transform you and your weapon into something more deadly than ever before.
The FLASHSTEP hack is currently a simple pdf export of a Google Doc. Consider it an ashcan draft for now. A full graphic edition will be produced in the coming months, with a higher price tag, but the basic black n white pdf will remain available at the current price point.
