My Grandfather's Axe is a story-telling game about a focus item through various eras; be they days, weeks, millennia or more.
Players play different characters each round; the foregone conclusion being the fate of the object, although its the players' decision how this is reached. What lead to the axehead being splintered, needing to be reforged? A great victory in the parliament or on the battlefield? The dedication of a ship or the collapse of a hegemony?
Over the rounds, the focus item is added to, damaged and repaired. Each scuff, scrape and scar tells a tale.
This is a GM-less roleplaying game with a narrative focus and light resolution mechanics. I'd recommend 3-5 players, and a handful of d4 dice.
