Tales of Strange Encounters is a TTRPG where travellers journey through classic stories. They can explore fairytales, modern myths, new narratives and familiar legends which exist at the fringes of reality. The possibilities are endless, as travellers move from place to place, hopping between urban mazes, ancient castles and forgotten dreams; meeting otherworldly characters and strange situations.
TSE is character and narrative focussed, using a rules light system ideal for one-shots. The characters description, motivations and experiences decide the outcome of challenges in a simple, narrative focused way. Literally any character concept is possible, and easy to create in a few short steps.
The game contains one scenario, featuring familiar archetypes and events, blended with a new narrative. Accompanying this are three pre-generated characters: a drug using arts student, a reluctant wizard and a forgotten deity.
