You never asked for this. Under the light of the full moon, you are changed into a bloodthirsty creature. In your struggle against this curse, will you become more than a monster or be lost to the beast?
Blood in the Moonlight is a solo journaling game that uses the Wretched and Alone framework to tell the story of a person struggling with lycanthropy. To play, you'll need a deck of cards, ten tokens, one six-sided die, and a tumbling block tower (optional and replaceable).
In this story, the afflicted person has little control over their transformations or the violent tendencies of their bestial self. Their condition is a terrifying and disorienting monthly ordeal, while also being an overwhelming sensation with no parallel. As the poor soul struggling against the beast, your goal is to overcome its rage so that you can stop your bloody lunar hunts and prevent your humanity from being consumed utterly. At the same time, you can't help but explore the dramatic changes that happen to you whenever the full moon rises.
As a game where you play a monster, Blood in the Moonlight deals with themes of violence, body horror, loss of control and memory, as well as suicide.
