“The American frontier is a wild place, filled with danger and opportunity. Grifters and gunslingers wander from town to town, hoping to make an easy buck, while prospectors and trackers brave the untamed forests and mountains in search of the unknown. But there are also supernatural threats inhabiting these lands—fearsome monsters and magical beasts, who prey upon the unwary.
The Civil War ended several years ago, and President Ulysses S. Grant now serves his second term in office. The Reconstruction era has brought many new changes, but for the secretive order known as the “wardens,” it’s business as usual—they have sworn an oath to protect humanity against all supernatural threats, by any means necessary, and their special status is enshrined in both law and tradition.
You are wardens, people who demonstrated great skill and heroism when faced by the supernatural, and who were then recruited and trained as monster hunters by the mysterious elders of the order.”
Inspired by the Witcher, Deadlands, and Spaghetti Western films, Wardens of the Weird West is a standalone scenario for the Tricube Tales system and is usable as a micro-setting, but it is also a fully self-contained one-page RPG in its own right. You can print it on a single sheet of paper: The first page includes everything you need to play, while an optional second page expands the adventure generator with examples and twists. The PDF uses layers for ease of printing.
