You Don't Belong Here is a journaling game about travelling through an enchanted bog, and surviving encounters with creatures from beyond the veil. It is inspired by Dutch-German folklore.
To play the game, you will need a way to take notes and record your journey, a set of standard playing cards and a standard d6.
Through gameplay you will encounter creatures inspired by and taken from Dutch-German folklore of the region west of the river Ems in Germany. For centuries, this region was dominated by a perilous bog (germ. "Bourtanger Moor", dut. "Bourtangermoeras", low germ. "Boertanger Moor") that stretched over 3000 km², leaving behind a rich collection of folklore and mythology.
Most of the stories and creatures have been passed down through generations, and are interesting variants on popular mythological creatures such as the Headless Horseman, Elves or Dwarves.
