Explore infinite 'verses! For every type of animation, subgenre, and even individual fictional world, there exists a 'verse. Franklin, a cross-genre and mixed-media megacity, is a major hub for travel between the 'verses and a common setting for mixed-media character groups. The playtest module includes a description of four other 'verses as well. You can also easily create your own genre and medium specific worlds.
Simple character creation and rules. Animatica uses a light d6 storytelling system. Characters in the core build are based around a genre and a medium. They only have 4 core traits, a small set of Tricks (animation powers), one or two Qualities (unique animation powers), and two Quirks (flaws). Includes a diceless mod for kids' and simplified play.
Modular and easy to extend! For specific stories, the rules are easily modded to adapt to almost any comedic, dramatic, or cinematic animated genres. Most mods focus on character type restrictions, replacing the animation-focused default Paradigms & Tricks, and restricting Qualities as appropriate to the story. Easily customize Animatica for a wide variety of styles and stories.
