In fact, it is not even interested in them. But it thrives on the everyday happenings, scandals, and rumors brought forth by its citizens. It is what the people want to read about. So this is what you deliver.
What happened at the stand-off between the bridge club and the nerd squad? Did the mayor really get drunk at the kindergarten party? And will the abandoned industrial complex actually be demolished now that an endangered type of stink bug has moved in there? These may be small-scale, irrelevant issues to the outside world, but they are the bread and butter to your audience. And you are not one to be stingy with spreading that butter.
Our Daily News is a cooperative one-shot roleplaying game for two to five players, in which you create, with your words, the content of a small town’s newspaper. Your readers are more interested in the tittle-tattle than serious in-depth coverage. The only ethical standard known to your newsroom is that every citizen’s life is equally exciting and subject to the public eye so that no one may feel left out.
