Sea of Dead Men is a tabletop role-playing game based on Blades in the Dark, following a crew of pirates making their fortune in the lawless Carrascan Sea. There are pitched naval battles, chases, camaraderie, betrayals, swashbucklery, strange magic, and lost treasure.
The game is currently in development. The rules document is fully playable, but most of the rules that it shares with Blades in the Dark are omitted. It's helpful to have played Blades before, but you can also familiarize yourself with the core rules on the Blades SRD. I'm working on turning this into a standalone game, but it may be some time before it's finished.
For online play, custom Roll20 sheets are available, along with instructions for their use. They require a Pro account with Roll20 to use.
New in version 1.3:

New in version 1.3:
- Full faction list (nine factions for each nation, plus 23 pirate factions)
- New crew playbook, the Loyalists
- New character playbook, the Swashbuckler (containing the flashier elements of the existing Scoundrel playbook)
- Miscellaneous tweaks to both crew and character playbooks
- Redesigned playbook and faction sheets
- Travel costs reworked to be less complicated and more expensive
- Cohorts now are tracked as single ships rather than fleets
- Guidelines for running ship-to-ship combat
