It is 2374. You are the Rockin' Exercise Federation’s finest expeditionary force – the Muscle Marines. Formed in the aftermath of an alien invasion of earth, you have been sent into deep space to find the home-world of humanity’s arch-enemy, the Zentlazi. Your mission is to defeat this vile foe, who even now seeks to destroy your command ship and recover the coordinates to earth, which they lost in the final battle when the REF destroyed the Zentlazi command ship. Once they find a path back to earth, the Zentlazi intend to end fitness forever and imprison everyone on plush couches. You must reconnoiter the Delt Quadrant for Brotoculture Artifacts that can bring and end to the conflict for once and for all.
About the game
This is a ZineQuest role-playing game based on 2017 200 Word RPG finalist Might Makes Right: Muscle Marines in Space. LIFTS: Ultimate Pump Edition is a game about becoming strong and healthy. A game based on exercise might seem intimidating at first, but it’s a game you can play no matter your physical ability. In fact, progression is built right in: the more you play LIFTS: Ultimate Pump Edition, the better at it you’ll become.
How does this work?
LIFTS: Ultimate Pump Edition is a game for about five players. The strongest player is the Muscle Master, who runs the game, describing situations and people. When you disagree with the Muscle Master about something happening in the game, you’ve engaged in a conflict. Depending on the type of conflict you're involved in, you and the Muscle Master will engage in a physical competition. For example, if you're trying to convince a local magistrate to let you into a city, you and the Muscle Master will see who can complete more sit-ups (because as everyone knows, sick abs win arguments).

In addition to the expanded engine featured in Roboflex, this zine is jam-packed with supplements (including Deadlifts & Dragons, Muscle of the Week, and Vampire: The Muscle Gain) that expose your group to different aspects of exercise and healthy living. Each supplement builds upon the base LIFTS: Ultimate Pump Edition system to introduce a different aspect of fitness.
