Outré Realms is a basic fantasy roleplaying game of weird adventure. It utilizes the dead simple FIST System, aptly named for the first letter of each stat that defines characters.
At its core, Outré Realms is really just a hack of the Original Fantasy Roleplaying Game. It may not look like that at first blush, but I swear that it is.
The most familiar classes of that game are represented here, the fundamentals of combat come from that game, as do the rules for healing damage. Everything else is built upon this tried and true foundation with some of my own innovations and some inspiration from hobby legends such as Dave Arneson.
Whether you're a player, a referee, or another publisher, you can use this open-licensed, DIY, old school game to spark your own imagination (ALL of the rules text is released under a Creative Commons license).
